Palavas near Montpellier has a fantastic naturist beach. Head south out of the resort towards Maguelone. There is car park with easy access to the CO beach. First visited here 12 years ago, and went back last June - still excellent.
A very nice beach. More and more naturist as you walk further from the car park (are "textiles" lazier than naturists?), with a strictly "textile" area marked. The signs for that "textile" portion have led to lots of complaints, as they demand "une tenue correcte", thus implying that being a naturist is "incorrect". >:(
Oh, and by the way, it's "Palavas les Flots", not "les Flottes" (if you'll excuse my remark).
"Flots" in French means "the waves" (with the meaning of "the seas", as in "Britannia, rule the waves"), whereas "Flotte" is a slang word for "water".
Another interesting point: although this may seem incredible, Maguelone actually boasts a cathedral, which can be seen from the car-park (and, of course, visited). The Romanesque building was the seat of a bishopric until the Renaissance, when the bishop moved to Montpellier.

We had two fantastic days on this beach at the end of August - a really nice relaxing atmosphere - with parking close at hand.
