Thanks for the advice! We did wonder as it doesn't appear in the France4naturisme listings - perhaps we'll stick to sites that are in there.

There are plenty of absolutely great sites which to not appear in the France4Naturisme listings - some of our favorites among them - but Le Ran du Chabrier is NOT one of them.

We have been looking at la Genese for our trip in July/August.
Any thoughts on it ?

Not stayed there but camped twice on other sites in the cluster of four but about fifteen years ago.

I had quite a long nude walk round La Genese while I was there and it looked good to me - clean, well maintained and well provided with facilities.

It was hit quite hard by winter floods a few years back but it should be back to scratch by now. I have seen nothing to the contrary.

La Genese and La Sabliere are definitely the best two of the four sites in the cluster, though.

OK I reckon I'm a bit of an expert on this one. We've been going to La Genese for years and years ... and not surprisingly love it. It's not downmarket compared with Sabliere as someone thought.
We feel it has more light than Sabliere and is generally much flatter... though with fantastic scenery.
You can walk and canoe for miles sans vetements. Some of the walks give you magnificent views.
There are two parts to the campsite. One can be a little noisy at night from live music. The other part .. Sauvage .. is much quieter.

There's a pool, a reasonable restaurant, bar and an activities programme in high season.

Ran Du Chabrier is the pits. A lot of very seedy characters wandering around there and the toilet blocks are YUK.

The market town of Uzes ( 30 minute drive) has a superb wine festival in August where you can sample hundreds of wines for FREE. Not good for the liver.

Let me know if you need any more info

A wonderful apartment available at La Menara... possibly the best part of Vera Playa... pool, free internet and 2 minutes from beach

I was looking the topic regarding "la Sabliere"... and I found this one...
I never went in this camp, as its specialty is not my cup of tea...
This camp is "for adult only".
see the website, it's clear

In France, it is a well known place for libertinism, so except if your are looking for such adventure, I do not advise to go there...

We were staying at La Genese.  Ran du Chabrier is just opposite, and seemed to attract single guys, more interested in looking across to La Genese than in the site they were on.  Some behaviour seemed to be very inappropriate - and very 'in your face' too!

Another vote for La Genese from us - we enjoyed staying there last year. There are more pebbles on the river beach than at Sabliere which has plenty of sand. But otherwise, we much preferred Genese. Level, bit more open and plenty of attractive views. Facilities were generally good too.
