Obviously, my very first experience with nudism was as an infant, but I don't remember much about it. A few months ago, I suggested to my wife a trip to a nudist resort in Springfield, Oregon, United States. Her comment was something akin to -- "I know this is on your 'bucket list' so I'll go along with you this once." It took her a while to get into the communal swimming pool, and even longer to get out. I, on the other hand, disrobed immediately and didn't give my nudity a second thought. On our second trip, I told her that she could no longer call it my 'bucket list' request. On the third trip, this time to a different resort, we were sitting at the pool drinking some wine with several other unclad guests, and my wife turned to me, totally unsolicited, and said, "Thank you for bringing me here. It's wonderful." Now she asks when we can go back. Paradise.
From a combination of personal experience and stories from other couples which I have read, I would say that your experience is totally typical.
My wife was reluctant to go naked on the first naturist beach we visited and now she is a keen as me on holidaying at naturist establishments.

I introduced my late wife to naturism. She was naturally hesitant to begin with but having experienced it, became a staunch supporter. She later became Secretary of the swim. We also had many happy naked holidays together, especially at Broadlands. M

Although my wife was not in the least hostile, she was just not interested. It was only to humour me that she agreed that we should try a nudist beach (Le Layet, near Le Lavandou in France).
Having tried that, she became instantly enthusiastic, and she was the one who suggested that we come again to that beach the following day.
Her enthusiasm has not diminished since then, and we are now into our fourth decade of being naturists.
