Hi All,
have spent the last several years camping and kayaking in Spain. I have found that in many campsites in the lesser known regions, it is possible to camp naked during the weekdays as many campsites are only frequented during the weekends. Nudity is not against the law in Spain and neither is wild camping so camping on the shores of one of the many flooded valleys is always a happy possibility. Please feel free to contact me for any details.

Hi Dick

Interesting subject. We have booked the ferry to take our camper to Spain in the spring. We have a number of naturist sites on our radar, but any other specific recommendations along the lines you've suggested would be appreciated.

Cheers, Mike

As a resident of Spain I feel I should point out that wild camping is illegal in both Spain and Portugal.  I know it does take place and many people get away with it but the risk is entirely yours.  Having fallen foul of Spanish laws myself I know how crippling fines can be, so I would say just be careful before taking that risk.  Many towns now have official overnight parking for caravans and campervans and these quite often are free so plan in advance.
I can well recommend the naturist site El Templo de Sol in L'Hospitalet, Southern Catalonia which is situated alongside a mile long official beach.

Hi Tony

Although the OP did mention 'wild camping', my interest is in connection with quiet textile campsites in Spain.

And yes, I agree, El Templo del Sol is very good and the adjacent El Torn naturist beach is stunning. As it happens however, I don't think we'll be going in that direction though. But thanks anyway.

Hi all again,
I stand corrected about wild camping in Spain. One site that I have used and enjoyed is on the Compestella Pilgrim route at Ruesta - about an hours drive from Jaca - is open from late June early July and is fairly basic and the three times I have been there almost deserted. My profile photo was taken there. It is a short distance to the shore of Embalse de Yesa referred to as the Sea of the Pyrenees and a great area for kayaking and swimming - nude! Ruesta is just in Aragon.
I will look out details of another textile site where we camped fairly nude mid week that was also close to a flooded valley - 7 miles from the Portuguese  border ad 60 miles North west of Salamanca

The campsite I used near the Portuguese border was Camping Cibanal the nearest town being Fermoselle about 5 miles to the West. We camped on their far grassy patch away from the bungalows caravans etc. We also Kayaked on the nearby Embalse de Almendra which is vast and supports nudist swimming in some areas, it is easy to be nude in a kayak, and there are many deserted areas anyway. This took place in June two years ago.
I hope that it is still there and as enjoyable as we found it.

We agree! We store or caravan on the site and fly out for our annual holidays.

Naturist 365 is the site. You will find links via adverts on this site, however they are a long way out of date.
