I have been watching this new series this week. It's on Channel 4 at 2.10 in the afternoon. It appears prices in Spain have halved in the last few years, and now buyers are returning to the market.

A number of people are buying properties in the £40k region and even a super cave house for £25k.

Can we find similar properties either on naturist sites, or properties close to naturist beaches. I just would so love to spend a few months each winter swimming everyday as I do here in the summer.

Vera Playa prices are now back to when we first visited in 2004. By about 2008 they were about 150% of these prices.
But nothing for £40k, all £60k/E70k minimum.

On a sober note - it's well worth doing the maths with this sort of thing.  The realities of overseas property ownership, especially a holiday home, can be quite grim compared to the abstract dream.

Yes, property prices here in Spain did collapse but are now showing the first signs of some sort of recovery.  Take a look at Naturist Property Direct as there are some properties on there which might suit your pocket.

However please be aware if you are thinking of letting out when you are not in occupancy that proposed Spanish legislation will soon prevent you from doing this without registering first with the local authority at extortionate rates, and you will be taxed to the hilt on any income made.  This is a measure being forced ahead by hotel and apartment groups who think that if private home owners are stopped from letting out their properties then all the reservations will come their way at highly inflated prices.  We used to have a website to try and rent out the flat in our property to fellow naturists but similar recent Catalan legislation has put a stop to this.  Now we only advertise on sites like this one sending details out by email, and everyone who stays is classed as a friend.  At the moment there seems to be no legislation that prevents our friends staying upstairs in our property whilst we are there.

Forget nudist complexes. Just buy a small holding away from the beach and the towns (naturally you will have to speak Spanish) - that's where they are very low cost and rather basic - but to put in a pool will be < 5000 EUR and if you don't want to use it all year round - I'm sure many people here would be very happy to pay for its use - at least £400 pw. There are many sites where you can let out the property (to anyone nit just nudists).

I do plan to do this in a few years time when I retire.

However - be careful - there is a bit issue in Spain with legal ownership - my Mother-in-law lost £150,000 buying a place that in the end did not have legal planning - they bulldozed it; no compensation.
