Following on from a post on my welcome thread (which I don't think I'm allowed to comment on)... I'm not sure I really want to look at joining a club yet, but if I did... I'm wondering about the merits of the three main clubs in Herts: Spielplatz, Five Acres, SunFolk.
It seems very odd to me that there are three clubs so close together but that aside I would assume that all are well served clubs with healthy sized memberships in order that they've been there so long. So... if you were in my boots* which ones would you be looking at investigating. I'm a bit confused as to what the differences are to each clubs and what one has over the other etc. I've researched them a bit over the years but it's still very difficult to tell them apart. Perhaps they are all pretty much the same?
Perhaps it would be best to wait for open days at each?
* Obviously I wouldn't be wearing boots per-se 🙂

At the end of the day only you can decide which club is for you. I can only suggest you ask yourself what you want from a club, visit their web sites, visit the clubs and ask the questions you need answering.

I must agree with Davie, ask for a trial visit at each club, chat to the members then decide for yourself, I would probably do this without telling each club about your intention to visit all of the others.
Some clubs are on property that is privately owned, others are owned by the members.
With the privately owned sites, there is always the possibility that the owner may sell at some time or decide it is more profitable to change the site to a textile camping /caravan site, I believe this has happened to a number of Naturist club sites.

I like the idea of being able to camp at a club as even though they're within 10 mins drive it'll still be somewhere to take our littl'un for a camping adventure that is quick and easy to get to at short notice.
I like the option some clubs allow you to just pay on the day. I would love to have a full membership and attend often, but with work and family commitments I may only get in five of six visits a year at best.

I would like to be able to do day visits. If I'm travelling around the country for work and have the possibility for a bit of naked time I would happily pay for a couple of hours in the evening...
