My wife has a shop, which means our opportunities for getting away are limited.
The quietest time of year is about now. We would like to get away somewhere where we can almost guarantee the weather will be warm and dry, where we can swim in a warm sea and, of course, where we can do these things naked.
The longest she will close for is just over a week, so Australasia is out.

Where would you go in our position?

The Canary Islands is always a good bet at this time of year although the Atlantic may be a bit cool for swimming.

I endorse Peter's view with the addition that Grand Canaria is probably the best for weather while Fuerteventura is best for naturism.

Try Cyprus or the eastern end of the Med., Greece etc.

Do what you say you are going to do.

Cyprus may be good for weather but not naturism.  Greece is far too cold at this time of year.  My temperature today is only 11C and the sea far too cold for swimming.  Sunshine is very hit and miss so wouldn't recommend it.

If you want sun and heat (in feb)- then Europe is a bit of a problem - especially this year, the med is too cold so it Africa and the middle east (for a short trip) - but that has many issues for nudists some very very serious ones.

If its just be naked (i.e. being free) then there are various other alternatives - you could try some of the European hotels and naturist spas. Do the sights (clothed), then back to the hotel for a naked sauna, swim etc. After a day or two move on to the next. Germany and Sweden are two very good places for this (Belgium and Holland too). But there is also the hot spa's further north - many naked people in hot spa's with snow and ice around.

So forget the beach - do culture and enjoy the freedom of what life should be like in sensible countries.

I had thought off Feurteventura, but John's blog put me off a bit as the weather was indifferent. I agree that Greece would be far too cold, and Cyprus unwelcoming to naturists. We haven't been to Gran Canaria. Is there really such a difference in the climate of the different islands?
My wife would not go for the European trip. She used to live in Germany and didn't like the cold.
I have seen a naturist hotel in Pattaya, Thailand. I know the country pretty well and Pattaya is very seedy. Added to which the hotel is quite a distance from town.
There is what appears to be a very nice place in Cancun. But I think that might be too expensive.
Keep the ideas coming folks.

If chancing the weather in the Canaries is too risky, I'd suggest Florida or the Caribbean would be the next nearest easily-accessible destinations for warmer weather and naturist opportunities - beaches and resorts.

Just shout if you want details - or check out a good guidebook* for inspiration. 😉

I should point out that the weather was the worst that we have ever had in 15 years of Fuerteventura trips and that at no time did I dress because of the weather - only because it was conventional to use shops and restaurants.
And M, who is much more temperature sensitive than me, was only dressed on minor occasions.

Recommended and sensible price in Mexico. We went in Feb a few years ago and had just one cool day. (apparently it was there coldest day for 11 yrs)
The sea is perfect temperature. http://playasonrisa.com/
Lovely hosts. Only drawback is it's a 5 hour drive from Cancun but the roads are good until the last 2 miles which is a dirt road but fine.

I concur with Seaside Naturist. If you’re lucky Florida may be warm enough but, being in the ‘first world’, it can get quite expensive (unless all you want to do is laze on the beach and eat burgers).

In your situation I’d probably investigate the Yucatán peninsula of Mexico. I believe the climate there at this time of year will fit with your requirements and flights to Cancún from the UK are now common so you can probably get there without breaking the bank. The flight duration isn’t short (about 11 hours; i.e. 3 hours more than Florida), so you waste a day travelling, but that’s the cold winter UK for you.

As I understand it, there are several naturist resorts and many naturist-friendly venues on the Yucatán peninsula. However, it looks to me like you would have to do a bit of investigation to find venues that suit your tastes.
There seems to be everything from ‘swingers places’ to ‘uber-rustic campsites’ and lots ‘in between’, so you may well be able to find somewhere suitable.

P.S. Thanks Seaside Naturist. I checked out the Playa Sonrisa website and it looks like it might be a suitable place for a monkey like me.

http://www.tulumnude.com/

This seems to be latest I can find about the Tulum (Mexico) area where we have stayed at Cabanas Copal when it was CO and about 75% nude used with great simple spa facilities. Unfortunately the situation appears to have become less nude friendly. However if you drive south of the Tulum Eco Zone (south of town and exceptional Mayan ruins) towards tohe huge and wild biosphere you will have miles of paradise beaches to yourself.

Warm sea is at something of a premium at this time of the year, and your options are pretty scant short of opting for a longish haul flight. The West Indies offer naturism and warm sea right now. Club Orient on St Martin is a good option, but it does involve a few hours of travel from here, so in reality a week away may seem to leave you with too little time to enjoy taking the rays. The Canaries do give you warm sunshine, but the Atlantic tends to be a bit chilly in February. A heated pool in the sunshine is a good option if the sea is too cold.

Canary Islands is a definite for the weather and the prices are very reasonable. As for the naked part I couldn't help too much but I do know in Gran Canaria there nudist beaches. The sea is always warm enough to swim in. Hope this helps
