hi every one, the wife and I are going to euronat end of july can anyone tell me what its like, from the pictures on the net it looks massive and cant wait to get there.chris 🙂
Yes, it's huge! Difficult to know where to start with a description. It's really a self-contained small town, with an extensive shopping centre, bars, restaurants and take-aways etc. There are swimming pools - indoors and out - and a wellbeing centre.
You can see the size of the place on Google maps:
The beach is stunning, and you can walk for miles. The sea can be rough, although there will be lifeguards on patrol. Should be good for surfing.
Try to take some bikes if you can, alternatively they can be hired there. Not only for getting around the site - miles and miles of routes, but there are also excellent cycle paths outside Euronat too (where you need to be dressed of course).
The nearby seaside resort of Montalivet is well worth a visit.
Euronat should be absolutely buzzing at the end of July, and with luck you'll have good weather too.
We certainly enjoyed our short stay last June (although we'd been quite a few times some years ago).

OK, sounds good - amazing place to go for your first naturist holiday.
Oh, and you don't HAVE to have bikes, it's just that it makes getting around easy and fun.

I don't know what it will be like at the end of July, but when we were there last year there was no need to dress at all once you had checked in.
It has a reputation for everybody dressing for dinner in the restaurants but we did not find it so and my wife never wore more than a pareo wrap in the cool of the evening. I was always naked and so was she on the warmer evenings.
If you can steel yourselves to don clothing the daily produce, tourist tat and good Bordeaux wine stall market in Montalivet-les-Bains about 1000 yards down the coast is well worth walking to. It is a typical French seaside resort with cafés and restaurants at every level from greasy spoon to pretentious.

However, can it really only be 1,000 yards walk to Montalivet? According to Mr Google it's 7km by road, unless I'm missing something?
I realise you can just walk along either the beach, or the road by the beach - but I reckon 1,000 yards is a bit optimistic. 😉

I don't think so. The Google link above goes to the centre of Montalivet-les-Bains. Vendays-Montalivet is significantly further.

We had our first naturist holiday at Euronat and thoroughly enjoyed it. We took our 'van with us and holidayed with friends. Pitches were of a good size although the 1st options was only suitable for a smaller rig than both ours.
The wellness centre is worth a visit I think last years entrance fee was €15 each which included a sauna, steam room, plunge pool (freezing of course!) and indoor heated pool and sunbathing/relaxation area (treatments costs are extra).
The pool area is very good both indoor and outdoor.
We went the last 2 weeks in June and found it on the quiet side but relaxing.
There is a good circular walk around the site and beach (perimeter is 7 miles, so we where told by a friend who has a static van on there). On the beach there are the remains of the German Gites (circa 1940-1945).
We will definately be back there next year 🙂
Jon and i went to Euronat last August for 1 week, as has already been said, its an enormous place, if all you want is a relaxing time, we found there was no need to go off the site at all. We found that the majority of people did dress in the evenings, as it did get cooler, there were only a few hardy souls still naked at 9 in the evening. We stayed in one of the cabins in the forest and didn't take bikes The cabin was spotlessly clean and reasonably well equipped, but as we really only slept in it, it was more than adequate. We are going back again this year, last 2 weeks in August and are definitely taking bikes this time as it will make exploring the site a lot easier and would recommend it to anyone going. Hiring bikes i seem to remember would have been approx 80 euros for the week
The beach was quite busy whilst we were there and getting a place near the rear of the beach is best as the sea comes in a long way and some of those at the front had to make a quick move once the tide started to come in - some didn't make it quick enough and possessions got a bit wet.
All in all it was a fantastic week - hence why we are going back again this year but for 2 weeks and would recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing time, its one of those places where you can do as much or little as you choose.
Arrived yesterday for a 3 1/2 week stay, just so fantastic to strip off and let all your cares melt away. This is my third year in a row and can quite honestly say Euronat is my favourite place on earth. Great atmosphere, people very friendly if you make a little effort, absolutely nothing seedy about it, naturism as it should be. Beautiful setting for relaxing and chilling out, you can walk or cycle for miles clothes free, plentiful of shops and restaurants on site, so no need to ever leave.
Just one observation, and bearing in mind I've only been here two days and the weather has been ok rather than brilliant, but there do seem to be more people going around dressed than I remember from previous years. In particular, people on the beach in shorts and bikinis. Even at 5.30pm in the plaza this evening I'd say 4/5ths of the people were fully dressed. Not enough to make you feel awkward about being naked, but not a trend I'd like to see develop further.
