See that they now have a website http://www.tythingbarn.co.uk/
Do you still need to book if you just want to camp for a night or two if in the area?
I would expect that the answer is yes, because it has always been full when we have visited. (still plenty of free space though as the camping areas are only about 25% of the total area)

Hi Graham and Heather, as we're at Tything Barn now I'll ask Jo and get back to you.
Hi Graham and Heather just spoken to Jo, give her a call the day before but if you want electric hook up it's best to book. There are fridge and freezer on site you can use.

Thanks for that. We won't need an electric hook up, but will give them a call when we are in the area later this year.

paid my first visit to Tything Barn today and ive got to say what a lovely tranquil place i couldnt spend too much time down but managed about 2hrs as a day visitor but ive got to say this i will be going back
I went there last yr. A must go place. So relaxing and has its own micro climate.
We were at Tything Barn last Thursday for a Day Visit when we were staying in the area. Had a lovely relaxing day down by the lagoons, sunning and then cooling off swimming with the fishes.
We emailed them before to find out if we needed to book for a day visit, but was told it was OK just to turn up with ID (our BN cards were fine).
Received a very warm welcome and a tour of the site.
We certainly hope to go back again; the sooner the better!

Hello was just wondering if anyone had any experiences at the tything barn in wales? Got a week off end of May so might pop along it looks stunning. Reckon that it'll be warm by then and is it friendly there for a single male to attend? Many thanks 😉
Hi, if you click on search at the top of the page, and then type in "Tything Barn", you will find lots of results.
We have only been to Tything Barn once. It is a lovely site, friendly managers, and the other campers that were there when we went were friendly.
I don't think there any issues with single men, there were one or two when we were there. There is plenty of space around the lagoons so you can just pick your own spot.

I can confirm that TB is fine regarding single males.
It's also clothing optional, so if your partner does not want to shed the clothes, then that is fine.
It's even dog friendly!

The problem with Tything Barn is that they are still in the stone age. Last year I had the pleasure of visiting the Telford Naturist Club. Wow, what a difference a heated swimming pool, a sauna and showers, a gym and reading room, woodland walks, a licensed bar with cheap beer, food available on certain days and a very high standard of hygiene. What more could you want? Oh nearly forgot Friday night was quizz night.
Why would Tuning barn want a heated swimming pool, its USP is its natural environment. It isn't a club it is a camp site.

As you said, Devman, different places with different purposes. It just so happens that they are both naturist.
You might as well say that a textile farm camp site is rubbish because it does not have all the facilities of Center Parcs.

Well Devman and John you may be right, but I can draw a comparison between the 2 sites as they are both charging similar rates. The one good thing about the TNC is that one does not have to participate in the extra facilities and there was no security guard walking round with a guard dog at his heels. Ed
