Hi Mike

Yes, the house, (to be fair it's a small pre-fab wooden unit) is residential, I think Kate stays there for much of the season, for one thing she gets better wi-fi reception than at her own house.

There's no movement on the fence as yet but I believe Kate is either going to move this or encourage the hedgerow to extend across the textile section which would probably enlarge the naturist area by about 20%.

Thanks Dave, useful info!

I do hope she will make the naturist area a bit bigger, it can get quite crowded in mid-summer when the weather is fine.

Glad she's got a proper base there for herself, which can be used during the season.

Hope we might get down there again later on this year (currently touring at the other end of the country, in Scotland).

Cheers, Mike

Last year, we managed to spend most of our days off at Manor Farm, because we were working in the area. Only managed one visit earlier in this season, and things are just as recorded here. However because of spending so much time there last year, we spoke to Kate considerably, and as far as we are aware, there are still plans to transform the textile area with new facilities. The naturist section is due to be extended, but very sorry no plans for facilities in the naturist section so still a clothed walk, I am afraid. This is a major project with a long term plan. In the meantime thing continue as usual. It is a beautiful spot in a wonderful area, with of course that special beach at Slapton. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the extra information! Whilst it would be nice to have some more facilities in the naturist area, I can fully understand why it isn't really a practical proposition. I don't actually mind wandering up the field; and only a towel, or a pair of shorts, or a wrap for the ladies, is required. Not too much of a hardship for what - as you say - is a lovely site, in a  very special location.

No there are no facilities on the naturist part at all. If you havnt been you should know that the textiles and naturists are only split by an open fence. Not for everyone

Surely, we've confirmed there is fresh water - 2 taps, in fact - one either side of the naturist field. And some electric hook-ups, along the line of the dividing fence.

I'm curious as to why it would be "Not for everyone"?

Hope you have a great time Julie & Dick. One thing. I can't remember the name of the pub in the village. It is only a short walk away, but it gets quite busy so if you are thinking of walking down for a meal one night it may be a good idea to book. I don't know if it is still there but there was a restaurant in the village that was nice and quite reasonable. Also a shop.

"Try to live a good life. Don't be afraid to be what you are'. some bloke in the pub.

Afraid that as of early June the pub has closed, (again), which is a great pity as the views from the upstairs lounge and the terrace are amazing, have watched 2 or 3 yacht races from there, (binoculars provided by the pub).

The shop/post office is open 7 days a week and carries all basic necessities and the staff are friendly.

The Laughing Monk restaurant has some amazing seafood dishes, I'm sure the rest of the food is excellent but I'm always seduced by the seafood tapas and platter.

If you want to drive to Slapton Sands the car park for the naturist section is Strete Gate but it's a very pleasant 20 minute/half hour walk down from the campsite....okay, and after a hectic day sunbathing a not quite so pleasant 40 minute hike back up.

After 5 days walking to the beach and back you will be ready to tackle the SW Coastal Path long distance trail.  😉

Does anyone know if Manor Farm (near Dartmouth, Devon) is still going? The website isn't there any more and no answer to calls. Can't find any email address. Thanks
