I must agree with the last comment. When I first went to these beaches they were 100% naturist, probably because there were no hotels on the doorstep. If we bow to this we will lose this facility. It was and is naturist and we should all try and keep it that way.
Stressed when dressed
I've always had good naturist experiences at Playas de Papagayo. But if the wind is in the wrong direction as some posters mention, Playa Quemada - just up the east coast from Papagayo, is fairly sheltered. Park in the small village and walk over a small hill to the south and you're at the beach. Its black sand so it can be hot to walk on barefoot, the sea is usually calm for swimming in and its never over-crowded. The most I ever saw were maybe 70 people, 90% naturist.
We just spent the morning on the beach am pleased to say natures took over about the last third of the first bay am glad as we didn't fancy walking up and over to the next bay.
Lovely day 🙂
We can recommend the Iberostar Papagayo. Walked from there to the beaches most days and used the sixth floor naturist facilities on others. Only problem on roof was lack of parasols due to high winds year before. Still lovely view over towards Papagayo beach.
Just back from our second visit to Playa Blanca and the Papagayo beaches.
We went most days to Caleta de Congrio which is our favourite.
We were a bit surprised to see what we thought was an abandoned caravan site when we were there in October to be half full and busy.
This did impact on the mix on the beach with the nude/textile mix being at best 50/50, however this did not seem to phase anyone and everyone carried on doing their own thing.
A great place for a bit of nude walking, on a couple of occassions I was able to walk to the cliff looking across to the restaurant and large car park, could probably have gone further but didn't want to cause trouble.
Stayed in a different villa in Los Colorades, every bit as good as the last and was one bush short of being totally private.
Good food again at Asia, Little Italy, Le Mirador and especially at Casa Carlos in Los Colorades (only a 5 minute walk) which is new, the restaurant was closed in October, appeared to be very popular with locals and ex-pats which is a always good sign!
Arkwright
The new Avatar is not from there though, Antiparos last June!

Park on the car park that's near to the camping area and a 2 minute stroll to the right gets you on a long stretch of beach with mostly naturists.
An absolutely spot on recommendation for the best bit of Papagayo beaches.
We went there twice last week and loved it.
70 naturists and virtually 100% naturist. Perfect.
Heartedly agree with this - I had a fantastic naked week in Lanzarote in June and went back to this beach twice - lovely long stretch of sand and great for swimming in too.
Would also recommend the north west beach of La Graciosa which is a short ferry ride across form the mainland. Absolutely stunning beach. Probably the best beach on the whole of Lanzarote (albeit it isn't on the mainland!)
Let me know if you need more info on how to find it.
