Hi Everyone!

My wife and I are quite new to nudism on a beach and we would greatly appreciate an advice from more experienced travellers about a right beach for us. We are looking for crowded beaches, which are popular with people (any age or gender). The matter is that we feel a little uncomfortable to be naked alone in deserted places, but we feel much easier when we are surrounded by other same minded people. Therefore, we are looking for the most popular nudist beaches in Spain (mainland, Canary and Balearic islands), which tend to have a lot of nudist sunbathers. From our limited experience, a good example of the nudist beach that suits us would be Maspalomas in Gran Canaria. We felt very comfortable there to enjoy the sun in the nude surrounded by many naked people! Could anyone please recommend other nudist beaches in Spain similar to the busy and crowded Maspalomas?

Thank you!

Vera Playa is a fine beach complete with a naturist hotel and apartment complexes also naturist.

We know Maspalomas very well and it is ideal, however we have also been to Papagayo at Lanzarote, it is very close to Playa Blanca on the southern end of the island. It is a great place to mix in with the crowd, but you can also find quieter areas if you so wish

Our personal favourite, and I think the best beach on mainland Spain, is the Playa de el Torn at L'Hospitalet del Infant on the Costa Dorada in Catalonia.  There is also a naturist site , El Templo de Sol, with direct access to the beach and which hires out tents and chalets.  The beach is a mile long with a mixture of sand and shingle.  Near the site can get very busy depending upon the time of year as can the far end with more spaced out sunbathing in the middle.  Two beach bars as well that let out loungers and parasols.  Tarragona and Barcelona are both within easy reach for day trips.

Just Wear a Smile

Two story 4 bedroom house suitable for naturists for sale southern Catalonia, Spain. pm for more information

I agree with Tony - El Torn beach is stunning and usually has plenty of naturists.

There have already been some other good suggestions too.

More to consider are - Benal Natura at Benalmadena; Cabopino Playa, at Calahonda; Costa Natura at Estepona - all on the Costa del Sol, west of Malaga.

To the east of Malaga, Almanat beach at Torre del Mar and Cantarrijun Playa east of Nerja are also good for their popularity.

El Portus beach along the coast from Cartagena in Murcia Provence is another option on the mainland.

The most popular naturist beach on Mallorca is Playa Es Trenc, on the south coast near the town of Colonia Sant Jordi, and on Menorca a favourite is Son Bou on the south coast.

Finally, back to the Canaries and on Tenerife, the cove beneath the 'Red Rock' at the eastern end of Playa la Tejita near El Medano attracts many naturists.

I think that - together with Vera Playa -covers some of the most popular locations in Spain and her islands (by concentration of the number of naturists using them). Many of the places have naturist accommodation adjacent or nearby (though not all) - you'll perhaps need to do a bit more research using Google.

The south of Fuerteventura is perfect - no inhibitions - just lots of like minded people nude and enjoying the sun!

we have been to fuerteventura a few times now. Jandia beach is fantastic and you can be naked almost as soon as you get there. Naturists and textiles were mixing freely along most of it, except when you pass the lighthouse and go towards the hotels, the naturists tended to thin out a bit.
The beach at corralejo in the north is almost the same, as you enter the beach from the town there are stone circles you can take shelter in from the wind, walk along and again the nearer you get to the hotels the fewer naturists you will see, but once you pass them then the textile and naturist mix starts again, and you can hire a sunbed and parasol for a few euros, and work on that all over tan there in comfort

Son Bou in Menorca is superb.. long stretches of fine sand, shallow warm water and once you walk a little along the beach, a really nice naturist section...

Playa de la Musclera in Arenys de Mar on a Sunday is choc-a-bloc and worth a visit if you're close to Barcelona. Thousands of people, all naked. Quiet in the week, though.

Try Charco Del Palo on Lanzarote if you fancy an uncrowded and very relaxed naturist village.

You can walk the village, walk the cliff or just laze in the sun all naked as are 95% of the other people there.

It is perfect for genuine naturists who just want to sink into the background of what is going on around them.

We are a happily married family couple with lots of things going on in our lives. We both enjoy naturism but my wife likes the temperatures to be more comfortable than me which restricts UK action

Vera Playa gets our vote every time though if you want crowds you would have to go in the summer. We like autumn as its quieter and still warm but if you want to be surrounded with like minded people why not try the naturist hotel there.
We have tried many other naturist beaches but as I am not so fit any longer the usual long walk to the beach or at least the far end of a beach.

Good Luck
Jim

Benalnatura (Benalmadena) at weekends when it is hot gets so crowded that the beach becomes a patch work of towels. If you can't find a space you can enjoy the sea from the bar, or maybe just stay at the bar  😉
