Great article on naked art in the Guardian ....
Sean
maybe its just me getting old, or not being a particular fan of art. And before anyone tells me,I know its all in interpretation and everyone feels different about art, but I'm sure my 3 year old grandchild could do better.
As one of the comments says "amateur scribble on a napkin, its even too cack-handed to fall into 'outsider art' territory"
Just my opinion 😀

The answer to that one is "try it yourself" and you will either find that it is much harder than you think or else you have a natural talent as an artist.

Naked is normal.
Must agree Alan, what a load of rubbish. Reminds me of the story of the Emporers new clothes, had to look good because he was the emporer.
The pictures ???? have to be good because of the name on the bottom.
Like the small child, some people can tell the truth.

To add my voice to the rest on here, to date. I have never been a fan of modern art. I'm not sure if it is a confidence trick or what but the useless scribbles that are proclaimed as good leave me cold. My grandchildren are more talented than the rubbish in this article. The human body is a beautiful thing, how these ugly depictions can be interpreted as representative impressions is quite beyond me.

.I was born naked, what's your excuse?
I think it is probably all about the person who can draw to photographic quality and chooses not to compared with the person whose effort is the best they can produce.

Do not do unto others as you would that they should do unto you. Their tastes may not be the same.

But if the art is judged on its' own merit, the fact the creator could have done better is irrelevant if the product is garbage.

It's never too late to have a happy childhood.
Then there are those who say that any artefact which causes controversy is, ipso facto, "Art". As in this case, perhaps 🙂
Perhaps it takes a true artist - a practitioner rather than an onlooker or critic - to decide what is truly artistic. During his time many people thought Beethoven's music was rubbish but 200 year's on who would agree with that? In their day many thought the Impressionists were not worth a second glance now they are considered better than the "scholastic" art produced by art schools of the time. I'm tempted to say that we shouldn't judge what we don't understand but I won't!
