There are many British naturists who go to El Portus in s-e Spain for the winter months because it is much warmer and sunnier than the UK. Many spend from October to March at EP only returning to the UK briefly for Christmas. The nights are quite chilly but from mid morning to mid afternoon it is warm and sunny enough to do some sunbathing on the beach. Benalnatura is OK and there will be people on the beach but the sea is at it's coldest from January through to March when water from the Atlantic is washed in. Having tried it I won't be doing it again!

We'd recommend Vera Playa. We have an apartment in the naturist area and spent Christmas 2012 here, with temperatures reaching 23 deg C daily. Let us know if you'd like more information.

BTW El Portus is about an hour drive north of Vera. 2 venues relatively close worth considering.

We often go to Costa del Sol at New Year after spending Christmas at home as we're members of a holiday club who have a number of resorts there. We have never really had bad weather although I suppose you can be unlucky. I can certainly recommend Benalnatura beach - we spent many naked days there at the start of this year.

  For the past few years we have been going to Almanat campsite at torre del mar which is Ok . I have been swimming in the outdoor unheated pool in march , We usually come back with a nice tan.

I'd go with Goldi me and the wife live about 15 mins away from Almanat campsite and have been here in jan on the beach it's been about 18 -20c ,we try to get to the site 4/5 times a week

You need to purchase the annual ACSI guidebook, which has a membership card with it to take advantage of the special rates - it runs from January to December, so you'd require the 2015 edition, which will be available from December.

You can also order it through the Camping and Caravanning Club and the Caravan Club. It has circa 2,700 discounted European campsites including plenty of French naturist locations. We were in Spain and Portugal for five weeks in our camper and used it a lot.

If you want some naturist camping near Vere Playa you could stop off at Cuevas Mar, which is a textile site with a naturist section, about a mile from the main nude beach. Fairly basic, but perfectly adequate from our perspective.

And one more suggestion, between El Portus and Vera Playa - Camping El Zorro - a very nice Dutch-owned site. The access requires driving a long (3km) dusty track, but perfectly OK and well worth the effort.

ACSI, the Dutch camping organisation, has huge marketing power right across across much of Europe - the guide is published in a number of different languages - and hence is able to secure some good off-season discounts.

However, there are in fact a number of naturist sites in France, in particular, that offer a decent discount to BN members.
