I'm visiting Cardiff tomorrow on business, but should be complete by mid morning, I thought I might make a visit to Kenfig beach while I'm in the area & the weather looks good.

I haven't been there before, so any advice would be very useful.

Many thanks,

Dave.

Park at Kenfig Reserve and follow signs to Sker Beach (about 25 mins walk through the dunes. When you reach a track just short of the beach (or go onto the beach) head west towards PT Steelworks. Walking for approx. 10 minutes you will pass the Bridleway - naturists use the beach west of here.

The lovely weather continues - beautiful day at Kenfig Sunday. Quite quiet - a few couples and single guys. Had a nice couple of hours in the sun.

And the weather continues to be spectacularly good for the end of September - we had a great day sunning ourselves at Kenfig today (Sun) - very quiet just the usual suspects about!

I did visit the beach as intended & had a really pleasant time there. Sun lovers directions were good & easy to follow.
On reaching the beach I only walked a short way towards the steel works before undressing (because there were so few people about & all a long way away ), then continued to walk nude only being seen by a single male Jogger ( I didn't bother to cover-up ) until I reached the area closer to the steel works where there were several other naturists enjoying the day.
I sun bathed for a hour, had a swim & then decided to walk back along the beach for as long as possible still naked.
It was very quiet with few people about & I managed to walk nude to the point were I needed to leave the beach without getting close to anyone.
I covered up with a towel while crossing from the beach to the path as I couldn't see if there was anyone about, but having done so & realised I was alone decided to walk nude as far as possible back to the car park. I managed to stay nude most of the way back & finally dressed only 10 mins from the car.
All in a really wonderful day.

Wonderful beach great for a swim when the tide is in long walk to sea when tide is out. Usually the odd jogger dog walker or cyclist now and then but I've never had a problem, weekdays it's usually ok to strip off and walk towards steel works as soon as you hit the beach but on weekends and school holidays I make sure I go a long way up close to the old shipwreck before stripping off

Had our first walk today along Kenfig Sands and really pleased to note that this winter has been much kinder with massive sand increase from Swansea Bay. It's the best we've seen it for a few years, with the large shoals of stones thrown up last winter now covered by feet of sand.

Also noted that the Nature Reserve Authority have cut another 5 or 6 huge  'draws' through the dunes to the beach which has allowed the wind to spread sand again. This is essentially in the 'gay' area of the beach. It looks completely different.

Looking forward to some sunny summer days just like today - but about 20 degrees warmer and without this icy northerly wind. 8)

Ah well here we go - first day warm enough for baring all and we managed a few hours in the dunes - one or two other brave souls doing likewise. However, the recent very high tides have pushed the stones right back to the foot of the dunes in some places, meaning that many of last year's favoured spots are not so good this year.
The best spot is now just west of the bridleway where the authority first cleared 'openings' through the dunes - this was one of the original naturist 'spots' at Kenfig.
Looking at the forecast it should be even better tomorrow - here's hoping.

And it was - a spectacularly sunny and quite warm day - with some of the usual crew getting some early season rays. 8)
