Hi I am off to the Algarve at the end of Feb, staying in the Albufeira area. I have been at this time of the year before so I know it can be warm if you can get out of the wind. Does anyone out there know of any sheltered beach where it's possible to go naked. Thanks. Leon
There used tobe quite a few Naturist friendly beaches along the Algarve coas t.
There is also the Island of Tavara, which is official.
I put a few posts on Algarve beaches a few years ago have a search in beaches non uk 🙂
Enjoy.

Hi - It's a while ago since this post I know, but did you have any luck finding a suitable spot? I'm going over in may for a few days. Posibly staying in the Gale area.
The attached link provides a very comprehensive guide to the beaches of Portugal. Recognised naturist friendly beaches are marked with a pink chevron.

I hope this helps.

Naturist beaches are so identified in the general description. The attached link for Praia do Canavial in Lagos, for example, indicates this to be a "Tolerated Naturism Beach". Other naturist beaches are labelled similarly.

We were in Algarve in may 2014.
We stay at a naturist B&B Casa Somba near Cavoeiro.
We visit 4 naturist beaches.
Funas, medium
Zavial , smal
Cavoiero, smal
Playa granda, very big.
There is another, Sancta Luzia, near Tavira. You go thee by train.

Carpe Diem. Just enjoi everey day. Live can be short
We loved Zavail and the long beach to the east of Lagos where we stayed. We were there in the height of summer though!!
yes Zavial is ice but when we were there in may. All sand was removed by storm. Looks like a moonlandscape. But nice place anyway.

We've been to Tavira beach / Island and its very good. we went over by boat from Tavira, but then is it quite a long walk to the 'official' nudist area, but along the way there were many nudist away from the busy family area and no one seemed to mind. Later we drove along and found the small train crossing where its a short walk to the 'official' nudist area.
We were there for a week and never had an issue with wind - there was a breeze, but it was so hot and the breeze was warm so not an issue.
