Poor old you! Love being on the beach!

There are quite a few good nudist beaches in the UK especially on the South coast. Budleigh Salterton is an official nudist beach and the other well known one is Studland where I first enjoyed nude sunbathing many years ago. My personal favorite is Pilchards Cove at Slapton where recently the council have posted signs which allow a larger area to be used by naturists

I agree Slapton is very good as its level walking and only a very short walk from the car park before you can strip off and also there is a toilet block close by.
Also because of the high cliff and very little else there it doesn't suffer to badly with gawpers and it has a lovely open aspect.

Having been in the UK on holiday and on business, I would love for my next visit to include a naturist beach experience.  It appears that the South may be the best location, but was wondering if there may also be some naturist locations (or at least where naturism is acceptable) in the Lake District.  Any suggestions would be welcomed.

look up Walney Island, Barrow in Furness - not official, fairly desolate & mostly nippy

I enjoyed visits to Slapton Sands, Studland and Budleigh Salterton when I lived in Devon. Now I live in Northern Ireland where there are no such beaches.

Thank you for the suggestions - would feel very comfortable visiting such places.  Here in the US there are still far too many who do not accept the natural way of life.  Being a second generation in the US from my father's side, I feel I still have my Norwegian grandmother's heritage and comfort with being unclothed with others. 
There are many in the US, however, who are open to this lifestyle, and that is encouraging.

The major problem in the UK is our weather.  The south coast, especially Devon and Cornwall have the benefit of the Gulf Stream and the days can become almost tropical, in the season.  Further north one has to be a bit more hardy but the beaches are there, Holkham, Theddlethorpe, Druridge Bay to mention only three out of many.

The nearest place for me is at Seaton Carew near Hartlepool. This is not official ( sadly ), and doesn't sound very romantic, but there is a clean large area of beach, with sand dunes behind. The area towards the power station tends to be deserted, and I have been naughty and got stripped off there on two or three occasions.

Living about 15 miles from the centre of England (Meriden in Warwickshire is allegedly the centre) visiting beaches is a holiday activity. Even Morfa is nigh on a three hour journey and makes a day visit quite an effort. The nearest sea is just over 80 miles away on the North Wales coast. Free range walking is an easier option, if perhaps a less social one

After reading some of the above posts, I realise just how lucky I am living in Cornwall. I'm never more than about 30 mins from the coast. Need to appreciate it a little more!

I'm in NW London so beaches take a long time to get to in any direction.

Last year I managed to visit Shellness near Leysdown-on-Sea. It's a nice beach, but like many naturist beaches rather exposed to the elements and devoid of 'facilities'. Nonetheless I had an enjoyable day.

I have tried several beaches in the UK but there are a lot of meerkats on the ones I tried, it is a bit of a distraction

Kenfig Sands on the south Wales coast is perfect - huge beach with excellent dunes behind, providing the perfect location for nude sunbathing.

There's also the beach at Whitford on Gower - although we've noticed a decline in users in recent years.

Also Wick (Traeth Mawr) near Monknash has a nude sunbathing area on the rocks with two beaches either side.

All in all in south Wales we're lucky!
