As a new member here i wanted to share briefly our journey so far.
My husband and I had thought about it often but never taken any plunge.
Our naturist journey was at first undressing at home, after our 2 youngest children had fled the nest completely in 2010. Our Son to go off to London to Uni, and our daughter to move in with a partner.
Then after surfing the internet we foung a naturist caravan holiday, and we spent one week there, only getting dressed to top up on food supplies. It was during this week break, as the weather was mixed, i had taken my laptop with me, and was surfing the internet for Naturist UK Beaches, holidays and the like, and i stumbled across the ad for The Sociable Bares to which we are now heavily involved, and are very passionate about. We have made such fantastic Naturist friends through this group, that we wouldnt have done just from holidaying or even attending naturist swim sessions. We have holidayed with other couples from this group and never looked back. We say all the time, which i am sure I am not alone here, why didnt we do it sooner!!! Me personally have my thoughts and answers, 'Timing'.
When my youngest daughter came home to live in January 2014, through personal circumstances, we decided to tell her straight out, that we were Naturist, and should we have friends over whom are also Naturist, she could either stay in her room or join us.
Much to mine and her dad's joy, she joined in, without a moment's hesitation, slow at first with her dressing gown at bay. Now Charlotte fully partakes in our social events and is at present joining YBN along with her boyfriend whom had his first experience only a few weeks' ago, and was amazingly overwhelmed by how comfortable he felt.
So for us The Timing of our Naturist Journey was perfect, even if it was only 4+ years ago.
Happy Nakedness to you all xx
Denise 🙂

Hi Denho,
What a fantastic, honest and heart warming story. I am in my mid 40s and although I have dabbled on and off with naturism I have really felt much more comfortable with it in, and wanting to be more open about it (telling people is a different matter!!), in the last few years
It must have been incredibly gratifying for your daughter to accept this, have your other children shown any interest? I am sure all everyone needs is the tinyest push to try it, and no one EVER seems to look back afterwards.
Out of interest, how do your non nudist friends take your lifestyle, have you told them, or do you keep the two seperate?
I can't help but feeling that given the opportunity so many people would either embrace social nudity, or at very least, tolerate it - there are worse things happening in the world today.
May you, friends and your family continue to enjoy each others company.
Paul
Hi Paul Glasgownudist
Thanks for your reply to my post.... We do keep our Naturist status very low key, and very few do know.
It is difficult at times, as I am an open person in other areas in my life. My eldest daughter knows, and she has 4 children all under 12. She accepts it totally. We have told our Son, and he accepts it too. (I have to honestly admit when we told Matthew he said, Oh your not swingers are you mum!)
Laughable now but at the time, it did unnerve me to think, i hope people who truly dont understand naturism in all its entirety, dont assume that if you are you swing.
Shame really, as its so utterly natural, normal, and comfortable.
I find it difficult to understand too that certain professions for obvious reasons cant divulge such an admittance of being a naturist.
We have friends that fall into this group.
Hope ive not waffled too much Paul lol

Hi
Thanks for your reply, and no, not waffled on at all.
I think that it is fantastic that your family have accepted your choices but really don't understand why so many people get sex and nudity intertwined to the point that one must mean the other, far from it!
I totally agree with you about certain professions hiding it away as if it is some sign of being wrong, I understand that, and while my wife knows about my interest, it is not something she is especially keen for me to practice at home or publicly - I just find it so relaxing and pleasant and wish I didnt have to get dressed for anything other than work - a bit of a necessity there!!
This forum is a great escape for me and I find I am able to build on other peoples experiences to help me with mine. Everyone is so pleasant and get on so well and my experience of a CO beach last autumn just confirmed that nudists are much more pleasant, accepting and sociable people. One of these days I am just going to end up telling everyone and be damned!! 🙂
