Hi Anne,

Any photo you have of you will do for your profile.  Can be just your face, head & shoulders or more. It's up to you whether you want to be clothed or not for the profile pic.

Once you are a full member you will see that there is a complete mixture on here of profile pics, some clothed, some not.

I took mine as selfie on my first fully naturist holiday - all the other photos I had seemed to be me drinking beer in the sun for some reason!

I really should have been born on a tropical island

that said, it's not even compulsory to have a pic. I don't have one and no one told me off about it yet. Mainly I just don't like photos of myself because I always look half asleep for some reason. But still,  you only need a pic if you want one.

on a side note, pity you're so far away, not many of us young ones around. As, at a guess by your username and the age bracket on your profile I'd say you are about my age, where most people are 45 - 50+ :-p

I am who I am, not what other's want me to be.

Take a look at the photos the people here use. There is quite a diverse range of pictures and you might just get inspiration. If you know someone who can take a picture of you dressed or nude that you like, why not try that. I dislike pictures of me but the one I use is me, and I've got to almost like it!

If you don't have a pic of yourself to use as an avatar, then choose something that reflects your personality.

Most cameras have a delayed action mode . Just set the camera up and note where the edges of the frame are.
I did hear of one chap who shot his own wedding photos using this mode.

Actually, group photos including yourself are easier than single self-shots as you can get everything set up with the correct space left for yourself much easier than when you don't have anybody in the picture to judge things by.

it is nice to have a picture because your new friends have an idea who they are talking to. just do a selfie and upload it you can always change it later if you get a better photo you like

I had some fun with Photoshop - you can do your own picture and just put yourself with whatever you want. It's fun and can be silly, romantic, warmer, you name it! I've put a simple guide but if anyone wants some help with something similar just shout!

If you have a web-cam you could try this http://www.testmycam.net/ The picture button counts down before taking the picture which can be saved and just for amusement there are lots of effects... and of course it tests out your web-cam for the chat room  🙂
