I hadn't been naked in public before, I had my little camper van and was stopping at Benar Beach camp site.  I had heard about the naturist beach at Morfa Dyffryn so one day I thought well let's give it a go !  I got to the naturist area and thought to myself, I don't know anyone and they don't know me it's not as if I'd just strolled to the corner shop with my kit off, I was a stranger.  So I found a quiet spot stipped off and started playing ball with the pooches.  After a time two ladies (clothed) came and sat at the bottom of the dunes close to where I was playing with the dogs. I thought nothing of it unit The time came to pack up and go, at that point the two ladies got up and walked away too !  I suddenly thought to myself I must have been their afternoons entertainment !  A naked bloke kicking and throwing balls for the dogs my dangly bits flinging all over the place !  Well as long as it made them happy I thought and headed off for a pint at Dyffryn caravan park.

I always have a great time at Morfa Dyffryn; it really is a special spot - good weather helps though!!! And like you I roll up alone, but with the dogs for company - it's great after the long(ish) walk to strip off and take the dogs out for a swim in the sea - bliss! As David the site owner @ Benar Camp Site will tell you the area has its own microclimate caused by the shape of the bay, the dunes and the proximity to Snowdon; which means you can often see rain in the mountains, whilst basking in glorious sunshine on the beach  8)

Glad the ladies found amusement in your exertions!

Sadly it's a bit of a trek for me now, but still remains a favourite. I'd recommend Tony's for a takeout Pizza  😛

Everything is better nude 😉

Originally the naturist area did not allow dogs,  recently David extended the naturist area including an area where you can take dogs, fantastic !  The only issue is the sliding gate !  If you close it for a bit of privacy but David comes over and opens it and puts a wedge in to stop it closing !  Late on the evening after dark I take the dogs out for their final walk, I go naked out the main entrance along the lane over the boards and onto the beach great feeling leaving the site without any clothes at all ! Just me and the dogs !
I often go for a stroll up Afon Ysgethin past the Ysgethin Inn,  I would love to do that walk naked !

Hi Bagpuss it has been a few years since i stayed at David Jones's Benar beach camp site and i am asking do you know if David still allows naturists to use the enclosed area in the corner of his site.

Yeah, i cant agree more ,.. Morfa is the best beach in the UK (imho) had many a happy nude day there. The dunes and beach are perfect and the sea is fantastic for a nude swim !! Well worth the long drive from Liverpool. Long may it stay a nudist beach !
If anyone fancies sharing a day out there when the weather warms up let me know !

Hi Gosman,

The naturist area is still there and as it's has been a few years since your last visit you might find it's been extended and a high natural stone wall added for a bit a privacy.

David's a canny fella and so recognises the value of the "naked pound" - I can't see him turning the area over to textiles; at least whilst he has a loyal and regular naturist clientèle.

We should have an NC weekend there sometime!

Everything is better nude 😉

This may be one of the first beaches I visit, during this year.
As an 11year old member of the Cov 4th Boys Brigade, I went to Talybont for a fortnight under canvas.  And loved it.  It was in the days of steam trains and long corridors in carriages, and the journey seemed to take for ever.  We seldom went to the beach whilst we were there, but I can remember it as being a lovely place.  A long walk from the campsite though.  🙂
Almost 60 year old memories

Too old to have regrets, but still young enough to make mistakes

Can't wait to get to Morfa again. I'm off to Wales for a few days in May with a mate so intend to get to the beach as often as possible.

I'm sure you both have a great time. May is a good time to visit as it's warm, but not packed with people. I'd recommend Tony's for pizza on the a496 at ffordd, talybont

We attend there regularly and even in the height of summer there's plenty of space for all. Well worth the walk to get there.

Always looking for friends.

In June 1996 I had parked at the nearby Tal-y-Bont railway station and walked down to the nearest beach where I went for a swim in the warm sunshine (and warm enough sea) and then lay up in the sand dunes relaxing and generally watching the world go by.  From time to time small groups would drift by, all well equipped with rucksacks and so on and certainly seemed to know where they were going.  I decided to follow at a polite distance (clad in my swimming shorts I might add!) and before long I could see well ahead that the hitherto deserted beach was much more populated.  As I got much closer, to my astonishment, I could see that I had stumbled across a naturist beach!  For some time I had enjoyed outdoor nudity, always on my own, but had longed for an opportunity to visit a naturist beach and here, out of the blue, was what I had always dreamed of.  I quickly discarded my shorts and for the first time ever was in the presence of so many other like minded people.  I had a wonderful day sunbathing in the nude, acquiring my first ever all over tan!  Went for another swim - totally relaxing.  Later that summer I had another opportunity to visit the beach on another warm, sunny day.  What  wonderful place!  Thoroughly recommended and well worth the effort of perhaps a long drive and a longish walk once at the coast.  For newcomers, look up the beach on websites to get the best advice for parking and directions.  Don't miss it!
