Lets hope the warm summer returns soon.
Personally I wish all naturist beaches would have a police or beach patrol present, naturist friendly but pervert extremely unfriendly that would fine, even arrest inappropriate behavior with a ban on using the dunes too. Like it or not, the pervs love the dunes. Buy a windbreak if its windy.
I admit, we used dunes for shelter when it was blowing the sand and not all dune users are pervs either before anyone says, but it would be a sacrifice I be willing to make to get rid of the perverts who ruin these beaches for everyone else.
So is Holkham still naturist now then? or banned?

I have used Holkham beach less this year, not because of the weather, which in June/July was good, but because of the positioning of the naturist section since the problems of last year. Two years ago, the naturist used a section of beach & dunes sited far enough away from the main beach entrance at Holkham Gap. In windier time the dunes offered a place where you could shelter, and still enjoy the sun.
When the wind subsided and the tide out you could use the beach itself; as well as the dunes.
Now the portion of the beach below the ‘high tide line’ that naturist can use is often on wet sand! And only suitable with a windbreaker! This section of beach gives me the feeling of being isolated, like eating in a large restaurant surrounded by empty table and the occasionally person passing by.
I appreciated the tidal surge of last December caused a great deal of damage and this section of beach has altered dramatically.
I am lucky to live nearby it’s my local beach; but feel that naturists are now tolerated and not encouraged, I remember reading a post by another member earlier this summer who said she would not return and I can see her reasoning. There are plans for an educational centre etc to be built at the bottom of Lady Anne’s Drive, which would bring more financial resources to the Holkham Estate than mere car parking fees alone. It’s a pity that the problems of recent years were not targeted with pinpoint precision so that naturist could still this area and the local economy benefit from those stayed longer than a day, to enjoy the beauty of Norfolk
Martin.
I attended Holkham in Sept 2014. There were naturists there but no where as many as previous years. Like previous posts, no meercats, no lurkers and only the beach being used. I placed myself a comfortable distance from a few others and loved the beach and a swim (beware the currents)
A wind break may be wise as there can be some hefty winds, and plenty of water as the walk to the naturist section is about 20 to 25 mins walk from the car park.
Good to see the beach back in use and by grown up adults not the prats that were there a few years back...
looking forward to the summer and a revisit then.
Encouraged to see Tosh29UK comment on the improvement of this beach. Good to know that it can now be considered a true naturist spot.
Avoided it last year, as I didn't want the trek just to be left disappointed. Sounds like this year I should give it a go again.
I am going there tomorrow to walk and enjoy the fresh air!
Thinking of heading to Holkham next week if the weather is good but don't know very much about it. From other posts it sounds like a 25 min walk along the beach and has official signs in place. Wondered though how much space there is and how far it is possible to walk naked.
Good to hear that Holkham is still naturist. Never been there but it sounds fantastic. Hope to visit soon.
we are heading to holkham this weekend. Is it possibl to cycle to the naturist section along the coastal path once you have parked your car.
Yes you can, cycle west towards Hunstanton on the coastal path, pass the hides and then the house after which you'll come to a area where two paths cross with trees at each corner, it's signposted turn right heading towards the sea where the pine trees finish, you can either leave your bikes fasten to a tree and then walk straight down onver the dunes to the naturist area, or take your bike with you. Enjoy!!

Thankyou Martin
It sounds like holkham is worth a visit. All that i need is the weather.
