Hi,

I think I have a problem with 'Naturist Clubs'.

My good lady and I have been together for over 10 years, I have in the past few years enjoyed plenty of Naturist experiences mostly without my other half (unless on a secluded beach abroad).

I have been looking into Naturist Clubs for one or 2 night campervan stays and seem to find that there are sooooooo many rules & regs, can's and can't do's, without any flexibility.

I mostly travel and camp alone and enjoy the break from my above mentioned good lady (although she is welcome to join me, now and again) and from what I have read and researched this is very much frowned upon at Naturist Clubs.  This ultimately means that I will be severely deterred from visiting a club and have no chance of ever joining one (should I choose to).

I may be wrong but this is the vibe I get from Naturist Club websites.  Perhaps Naturist Clubs should get with modern lifestlyes and understand that the world has changed and some folk just like to do things on there own without all the Rules & Regs.

I think I could rant on forever with this but will see what comments come from my post.

Ian (lives with partner, but does my own thing)  🙂

I have had difficulties over this when I was membership secretary and had to turn away several perfectly good prospective members because of the attitude of the rest of the committee.

WOW.....turning perfectly good people away!!! I am amazed

I run my own business and would find it very difficult to turn anyone away or I would have no business left!!

To turn perfectly genuine people away seems almost pre-historic, so unless you meet the exact requirements of all the committee members at a club they wont entertain you?

Most naturist clubs are members clubs, which means that they are a law unto themselves. Almost certainly, there is in most clubs a worry that too great an imbalance of the genders would be self destructive in the long run.

Clubs by their very nature create their own rules to suit them, i.e. the members.

As a male naturist, I have great sympathy with men, who either have no woman partner or a partner who has no desire to go without clothes in a naturist setting. I know of one couple who went to a nude swim session and were put off even before they went in due to almost all those entering being men. The problem, especially in this country is an old one, and will run as long as this imbalance exists. It us most unfair but a solution seems unlikely.

Rules can seem draconian, and maybe are. How to change this I truly have no idea.

Yep, I am in the same position as you guys - I have resigned myself to the fact that as a "single" male naturist, I will never be welcome at any club and it is my firm belief that these clubs will close down over the next few decades.

They may be members clubs, but they are also still businesses and need to generate revenue in order to maintain their existance and/or grow.

I have asked the question on my photography forum (many hundreds of models who pose nude) if anyone considers themselves naturists (closet or otherwise) and virtually all respondents have stated that they have visited nude beaches, go nude at home/garden but do not visit clubs! Is it because the clubs are now so full of the "mature" member that young people do not feel they fit in or they feel uncomfortable?

We are members of Suntreckers'  and go to many rallies in our motorhome where we meet many single male and single female members.  All you need is a tent/caravan,/ motorhome.  naked camperman maybe you should have a look into our club.

I love an all over tan

I think the OP was referring to landed clubs rather than Suntrekkers or SOC type clubs but nice to know about ST - when I get my camping gear sorted, might join  😀

I have heard it said that another aspect of landed clubs not allowing one half of a couple when the other has no interest in naturism is the fear of being cited in a divorce case - whether the naturist partner hooked up with someone else at the club or elsewhere the publicity would reflect badly on the club.

My wife and I have no experince of joining a naturist club (yet) but commitiees of hobby type clubs can sometimes be run by people who have no "authority" elsewhere and the club becomes their little kingdom.

Naturist clubs, venues and swims I think should have a reality check, whilst many of us with partners would love for them to join us and therefore be a nudist couple, often the other half is not happy being naked  and hence will not participate in such events, venues.

It would be of great help if they allowed C/O providing one partner was a nudist in all probability male nude female co (to meet the concern of perverts etc).

I know many places do have C/O events (for the 1st hour or so) but then what - strip or get out! Nudism for me is about being relaxed and acceptance of people for who they are - and if they are not happy to be nude but are happy to in with people who are so their partner can enjoy the freedom of being cloths free - what's the problem.

So please, please, please - can we have more locations / events that accept people with clothes as well as those without.

That is a totally unfounded fear based on an urban myth - but it does not stop committees believing it.
Any attempt to cite joining a naturist club or swim as evidence of adultery would be laughed out of court.

If you're young, you're gay and if you're mature, you're a dirty old man - did you not know  😀

Really don't know the answer - possibly conditioning from a textile world?
