In 1999, i was speaking to a friend of mine about travelling , holidays etc and the subject of beaches had come up!!, so we carried on chatting, finally we started talking about calshot which is situated beyond lepe beach - a poplular visited beach, however she told me that right down the end is a nudist beach that wasn't overlooked at all, quite pebbly, but with stunning views of the solent.
So a year later i walked down the long strip of calshot, and eventually i found the nudist end, and glad that i did because it was a lovely day, bright sunny and the views across the solent were beautifull.
Calshot is one of a very short list of UK naturist beaches I've been to (the other being Studland). I enjoyed Calshot and found the native to be friendly, but not overly familiar.
Although there are no dunes the beach has its own version of the dune meerkat; the boat meerkat. This species drives a motorboat slowly along the beach while scanning for nudists to leer at through large binoculars and (in one case) holding on to a part of his anatomy in a way that is not generally acceptable in public :-[ The look on his face, when he found himself looking straight down a long lens, was a picture. (Judging by his physiological reaction, it was also a major turn off for him 😀 and he left at speed). I did not see him again that day, he was back the second time I visited the beach but was a little more discrete.
The only other drawback with Calshot is that the trees behind the beach cast a shadow over the beach making it cooler than it would be relatively early in the day.

It was at Calshot where I first was nude on the beach. I had no idea it was a naturist beach and was out exploring the coast and came across some folk sunbathing. A brief conversation followed and I too was naked on the beach enjoying the suns rays on my body. A lovely place.
Calshot is lovely - been there a couple of times and intend to pop along next week too (if the weather stays good). I will also partake of another of my hobbies - sea fishing - and can do it nude!!!! 🙂

Never tried Eastney - is on the list but will have to see what the weather holds for us.
My first day using this site and I was pleasantly surprised to see Calshot on here. As someone earlier in the thread talked about, this was also my first UK nudist beach experience. I used to be able to go there a lot over the summer as I wasn't living too far from there.
I often ended up chatting with lovely people there.
I would've loved to have seen the reaction of the person on the boat when he was spotted that time!
