Has anyone been to the nude beach at Scheveningen in the Netherlands? it's near The Hague.
If so what is it like? Nice for swimming? Any waves? many people? mixed ages??
A friend of mine lives in The Hague and she has invited myself and my family over for a visit. Hoping to visit the beach while there. there is some info at this official link:

thanks in advance!
We have been to two nudist beaches a little further north at Noordwijk and Zandvoort. The latter is particularly good with some catering facilities and certainly a great mix of age groups.

I was there a few years ago. It is just a section of the continuous beach along the coast. It was windy and rough when I was there, so I couldn't go swimming but I think it would be as good as the north Sea can get . The beach was clearly signposted ,but the Dutch don't seem to bother. People were naked all over the place. I walked for a couple of kilometres in the nude before I realised, firstly, that I wasnt' on the designated beach, and secondly, no one cared. If you get good weather you should enjoy it .

Thanks Sussex and Julian for your replies and helpful info. I'll report back after the holiday. It's not till 2nd week of August so anyone else who's been out there please share! thanks
A few years ago I spent some time in Holland nr Bloemendaal and the Kennemerduinen National Park with a glorious naturist beach which is a bit like Sudland... the beach was called Parnassia and is absolutely stunning.
The Kennemerduinen is well worth cycling through to get to the beach too...wonderful, worth checking out!!!
Ask me about Vera Playa naturist apartments to rent or check out my website (5% discount to NC members): http://www.veraplayavacations.com.
Got back last week after a week spent in Den Haag (The Hague), which is very close to Sheveningen about a 20 min cycle.
Got fairly mixed weather, went to the beach about 4 days out of the week and only one of those was a proper naked beach day.
The beach is a big long beach, quite commercialised at one end near the pier, with loads of beach bars coming onto the sand. If you walk up a bit it gets less busy, the beach bars are fewer you reach the FKK/ naturist section.
It's really nice. On busy days get a real nice mix of people: families, couples, singles, old folks, did see one pervy guy who kept walking around and saw him approach one or two women but he seemed to move on, not sure what his story was. But in general very nice spot.
Water was lovely quite warm and nice waves. I find flat seas a bit boring, but there was a nice bounce here and not too rough. Quite a lot of broken shell pieces in the sand you had to be careful walking barefoot.
There's a beach bar called Natural in the FKK section but everyone in it was wearing a swimsuit of some sort as I took a mosey over to see what the story was, I'm not exactly sure what the etiquette is but that seems to be the case.
If you could be guaranteed good weather this would a great place to go on holiday as you have the combination of a cosmopolitan city and a naked beach not too far away. But the weather is unreliable. If you were living there it would be fine though as you will always get good days but for planning a visit you can be lucky and unlucky. Strangely the weather forcasts were fierce unreliable. They used to change the night before or the afternoon before. There was a good few days we were expecting lovely weather the next day but then the forcast would change that afternoon and the next day would be cloudy or misty or rain etc.
Renting a bike is the way to go, still not as cheap as you'd expect. Though the public transport is excellent, it's not too cheap either for a tourist you'd really want to sign up like a resident for the card system a bit like the Oyster card in London.
all in all hope to go again and if I do make hope to get fab weather!
When the mini hot spell set in at the beginning of July we decided more or less on the spur of the moment to take off in our camper to explore the Netherlands, including a selection of naturist resorts.
Once through the tunnel it's not far to drive to the southern border of the country. We made it to Athena (Ossendrecht), which was originally a Belgium club developed just inside the Netherlands a few miles north of Antwerp.

It was a smashing resort and VERY busy, as it was a hot sunny weekend. A mix of all ages, with lots of families. The facilities were first class and we were really impressed.
However, the reason I mention all this is really in connection with the weather, as highlighted in the previous post. After two stunning days it turned wet and cold - not what we'd expected. And the forecast then indicated the bad weather would last for at least the week we had available.
As a consequence, we turned tail and headed 220 miles south to the north-eastern outskirts of Paris, where we stayed at SCN Regain, a pleasant naturist resort - and where the weather was warm and sunny. http://www.scn-regain.com/ The old website doesn't do the place justice.
So our exploration of the Netherlands is delayed for another time.
