Spent a fantastic afternoon biking and exploring nude on moorland in the Redmires area yesterday. For those wanting to give it a try...from the highest reservoir there is a gated pathway that runs parallel to a water culvert. Follow this for about half a mile. The views are great. Eventually come to a gate that has a style. Hop over this and follow the track for another half mile. Eventually you will arrive at a secluded little pond at the side of an abandoned water authority building. You can safely strip of here and either sunbathe or explore.

At this time of year the bracken is only just getting started and it is possible to follow a sheep track to the left of the pond and work your way up an open incline towards a knoll of trees from where the views are wonderful. I spent 3 hours ambling and sunbathing and never saw anyone. Will be making this a regular venture on hot weekdays.

It looks like an awesome place.  Does the abandoned pond / reservoir look swimmable?

The water looks very peaty and a little off putting. Can't tell how deep it is. Certainly large enough to swim in. Heading back there today after lunch. Will take a camera and post some photos.

How did the return visit go?  Did you manage to get any good photos?

I've been up Redmires a few times, mostly in the wooded area itself. Will give this spot a try.

Spent another great afternoon there last Friday. Took a few photos which I will post this weekend. Discovered a hidden track and spent some time exploring this. Never saw another soul!
