When I used to live in Germany, there was a nice walking trail close to my house and I used to go there to look up at the stars because the streetlights would not interfere the view. The second time I went, it was on a warm night in July and it was such a clear night that the stars lit up the whole trail through the hills so I did not even need a flashlight. I began my journey and about 10 minutes in, I decided to strip nude and leave all of my belongings on a bench. I walked about for about two hours nude from one village to the next and back looking at the clear night sky and all of the shooting stars that I ever imagined. Anytime I went after that, I always stripped and left my clothes at the same bench and walked the whole path. I started doing it during the day while walking the dogs and encountered other walkers but no one ever said anything and just went on as normal. I think it was then where I was most comfortable nude with nature. Now I try every chance I get.
This sounds amazing. Somehow I cannot imagine this happening so freely on the UK. UK is not so tolerant / liberal in their views!!
I am a bit surprised since we are so close to mainland Europe where many countries are so free about nudity. There is a lot more nudity here on regular television than in America so I would have thought it was a bit more nude friendly than what it actually is. Hope the UK gets a bit more liberal and free soon so I can freely enjoy some nude time outdoors without worry.
The UK is often seen as the bit between Europe and the USA and I think the attitude to nudity is the same, more liberal than the USA and more prudish than Europe. Unfortunately more often than not of late the UK tends to follow what the USA does rather than Europe, so its possible we will become less tolerant to nudity and with recent changes in the law this does seem to be the case. - may be we should all move too Germany!
We did something similar while In Fuertaventura last September, we were siting on our balcony looking at the stars but could only see a few because of the resorts lights.
We decided to walk naked onto the beach and with only the light from my phone get away from the glare of the hotel. A few hundred meter down we stopped and switched off the torch. The effect was amazing so many stars and we seen at least 20 shooting stars too in the short time we were there.
We will do it again when we go back and have a very clear night.
I never realised how wonderful the stars at night are until we moved to Catalonia.. Our house is way out in the Campo so no lights from civilisation to speak of... what a fabulous view up there !!
At Nudefest the dark Cornish skies allowed us to see the band of the Milky Way.

Great story about the walks in Germany. I have tried a couple while there and I was shown where the nudity was more tolerated.
