I was in my late 20s, just back from working in the Middle East for a year and visiting my parents who were still living in Vienna. I had always wanted to swim socially in the nude, but had never had an opportunity. There was an indoor pool in Vienna, which I thought was nudist (I don't know how I thought that) so I steeled myself and went. There was nothing in the entrance to suggest that it was nudist, and there was no one in the (male) changing room, so I played it safe, put on a swimming costume, wrapped a towel around myself and went into the pool Everyone was stark naked, they just regarded it as so normal they hadn't mentioned it anywhere. I went back into the changing room, took off the costume, wrapped the towel around again and went back in. Steeling myself again, I took my towel off, and have never regretted it. I found swimming in the nude delightful. Just wandering around to the sauna or the pool in nothing at all just seemed right. Looking back, one thing was very different in Austria from England. There were more, significantly more, women than men there. I think it is just that nudity is much more the norm there than it is over here. One day maybe

Hi Julian,
I'm glad you enjoyed your first nude swum experience. Can you remember where this was in Vienna? I travel a lot around Europe with my job and am often there. Would be nice to go along for a swim after a long days work when I am there next.
I think that pool closed down a long time ago. The whole area was redeveloped and it disappeared. If you are in Vienna during the summer, you should really visit the Lobau area along the Danube. It is a huge nudist area along the river banks and into a large area of woods and lakes behind. Very popular with the Viennese. I am sure there are nude swims as well, but I moved away a long time ago so can't advise any further.

Thanks for the reply Julian. I'll be sure to try at those places you mentioned next time I'm there.
