I have walked/jogged naked on a warm night on a foot/cycle path through woodland where I usually went early in the morning to have a river dip (this was before I found a parking place much nearer my skinny-dip spot where I could leave the car naked). I carried a pair of shorts with me, but then saw a cyclist coming towards me with a bright light. I was more wary back then of being seen naked, but as it would have taken too long to put my shorts on, I carried on regardless. I'm don't know what the cyclist thought, but they didn't say anything!

I believe that all textile night-owls should be required to wave a lantern to warn naturists that their peace will be shattered unless they take a detour...

Re dead of night vs Dawn, MartinM, I agree that there are good reasons to favour Dawn (or rather pre-Dawn) over dead of night, but in order to reach my favourite spot to arrive at pre-Dawn I have to set off in the dark.  This means that I have to wear glasses at first - to do otherwise would be akin to being blindfolded in a dark room.

All of which is well worth the pain in order to reach The Promised Land, where I too can go barefoot, and glassesless, stroked, not alarmed, by the presence of deer..... 

I've done a few early morning naked runs. Ran 10 miles one night it felt amazing. I loved it.

I have only done night time walks whilst at naturist sites Tything Barn is good as there are plenty of paths and you can walk for over half an hour with out retracing your steps. The Naturist Foundation has a good woodland walk which can be really atmospheric and can be pitch black. I have not walked naked on open land only on Naturist sites, but I find the idea of walking in open country very appealling

I have done a few EARLY AM walks ( 5 am) to avoid bumping into tourists! I live near Moel Famau in Flintshire and have walked miles in the buff, alone: exhilarating; Would like to do these things in company though

We very often go for nude walks at night when we're in Spain.  We take a wrap or something similar to slip on if a car comes along, but that doesn't happen very often.  I have a towelling 'skirt' that velcros together and the girls take a shawl or something equally diaphanous. John.

Haven't recently, but it has happened.  For anything serious you need a good moon or a flashlight, and best to know your route well.

Since this came to an end back in 2015 - I thought I would restart it since there are many new members that may want to enjoy some naked walks in the country but very concerned about people seeing them and their reaction.

So on a nice warm night, with a good moon its almost like day time and if you get out into the country and go on marked routes through open country or woods its a great experience, and no need to take anything to cover up with, but naturally not so great for taking pictures.

Last year one of my many naked night walks was around a country park (been meaning to do it for quite a while) - not quite at night but 10pm, always love the place during the day but too many people and too many bends and kids to risk going naked during the day. In all I guess I walked for about an hour around the park (quite hilly in places mixture of woods, streams and some open areas. I did this without anything to cover up with (no cars in the car park) and to my surprise I did come across a group of 4 people - no issues at all - they just said 'nice night for it' and just carried on - later I checked and there is a track from a pub on one side of the park to a village on the other side. 

On a fine moon lit night there is nothing nicer than a naked cycle ride. If its OK in central London in the day I can't see why it should be a problem at night in the country. I have done two this year but am waiting for it to get a bit warmer for the next one. Shivering spoils the fun a bit.

I have not done it for a while weather and all that, but hopefully as the summer comes in I shall be doing it again. There is a woods that is not too far from where I live. It is rather near to a hotel, but I have yet to encounter anyone out after  midnight. Incidentally my avatar picture is taken in a part of that wood where nobody ever seems to go.

When I was a teenager I remember walking up my road in the early hours of the morning, not done it since. But been very tempted a few times and reading this as given me the urge especially with the muggy weather we are having at the moment in the uk.. I am working for the next few nights but  I think If the weather is the same midweek I might go for a stroll. .

After replying to another walking thread - this was displayed and I though with so many new members it would be helpful to restart this again, but not just night time - very early mornings 3-5am normally there is no one around so you are quite safe and with temperatures often 17 - 23'C in the morning and quite light its a very nice time to walk.

So far this year I've done 3 walks (> 4 miles) on trails that are just too populated during the day (also 2 bike rides on non road routes) , never seen anyone - great to walk / cycle without the concern of peoples reaction if they see you (even though most people have no issue).

Yes, I totally agree with you about the time to go. At that time in the morning you'll almost never see anyone else and, if you do, there's usually time to cover up if necessary. It's been a while for me, for all sorts of reasons, not least the installation of security cameras at a once favoured spot. So, it's worth doing the walk by day first, just to check the lie of the land, so to speak. Bearing in mind that it is not illegal to be nude in the UK I would certainly encourage anyone considering it to go for it. You'll love it! Oh, and if anyone is near me and planning a walk, please let me know. We might just be able to arrange something together. Two pairs of eyes and ears (or more) has got to be good.

Unless the security cameras are likely to be monitored full or part time (MoD land or suchlike) they shouldn't cause any real problem. And even if monitored, I doubt the security guards are on the lookout for passing naturists. Most CCTV is there to deter the bad guys, and the footage only gets looked at later if something happens. The worst that might happen is some indistinct and grainy footage (have you seen what actually gets recorded at night by the average CCTV?) turns up on YouTube where it will never ever be seen.

I'm not doing any summer night time walking, it's too wet. I'll wait until November when it should be drier.
