We have stayed on a couple of textile sites in Dorset. One was that quite I was able to sunbath naked in the front of the tent. The other one I actually went to the toilet in the middle of the night naked and did not see any one. We went to a camp site once and they had a naturist section. They asked us to put our cars in the main car park has they had more naturist's coming in. Without a thought I got in my car and drove it to the main car park. It was not till I got out and walking back to the tent I realised what I had done. You have guessed it, I forgot my clothes.

That's how we had our first holiday with our trailer-tent.

I just need to convince my wife to go to a naturist site !!

I've been naked behind a windbreak on small farm sites but in truth its not ideal. Our first visit to a naturist site was when we "just happened" to come across the Tything Barn site (accidentally on purpose by me) Mr D exclaimed that it was naturist and on asking the warden if she had to strip and being told no we stayed. She has since said that it was a plot to go to a naturist venue. I was rumbled but it turned out to have been a successful tactic. I'm very lucky.

It took a bit of time but Mrs D is now a naturist too.

Davie, you have reminded me of the time we were sunbathing behind our windbreak on a textile site when some horse riders rode down the lane the other side of the hedge.

Bring her to Sleaford Swim this Saturday it is costume optional for the first hour.  You can promise her from me that NOBODY will take the mick.  After the hour she can choose to strip off, sit it out in the foyer or even go home if she prefers.  There will be absolutely no pressure.

I'm afraid we are going out to friends  (textile ) but will certainly try and get her along another time

We have just spent a week at a non naturist campsites in Cornwall, more luck then design but we were able to sit  in our awning naked most  late afternoons when the sun was out and enjoy  a drink.

We were on a campsite in the French countryside out of season, and there was just one caravan there apart from us. I used the washrooms and did the washing up, etc all eu naturel, and went for a walk around the local area too.

At the municipal site in Chateau-de-Loire we were sunbathing naked by the high hedge - invisible behind our big windbreak - when two lady horseriders came past on the road the other side of the hedge.

Around the middle of last month, there were a few warm sunny days which we spent at the Camping in the Forest site (Camping & Caravanning Club) at Postern Hill, on the outskirts of Marlborough, Wiltshire.

It was mid-week so we found a quiet spot and felt perfectly comfortable sunbathing au naturel behind a windbreak.

We chatted quite a lot to the friendly wardens and mentioned we enjoy staying at naturist sites. They didn't seem fazed, and suspect they put 2 and 2 together, and came to the right answer as to why we were using a windbreak when there was no wind.  😉  🙂

I'm all for normalising naturism and support those who have gone au natural on a non-naturist site. On the other hand will we get upset if people stay dressed on a naturist site? Or is there a difference?

It really doesn't worry me too much if folk choose not to strip off at a naturist site - it's almost the norm these days at the larger French resorts.

Likewise on the beach - perfectly relaxed about a mixed approach, where everybody makes their own decision what to wear or not wear.

I realise, however, it is an opinion that might not be universally shared...

Interesting one.  As I mentioned,  and as I think all of the people who have owned up to being naked on a textile site, they have been discreet,  and  kept out of site of other campers.
I think all the naturist  campsites we have been to are promoted as "clothes optional " except usually in the pool if they have one. I think that it is right that sites should remain CO as there is often the case where only one person in a couple is happy to strip off.
What I would find a bit strange is if a single person spent the whole time at a naturist campsite clothed, even though the weather fine.
To be honest I dont think upset is the right word when used from the clothed person on a CO site perspective. I do however understand that people on a textile site could get very upset if they encountered a naked person, as I expect that is the last thing they  would expect to see. That is why, on the few occasions that we have risked it, we made sure that we couldn't be observed.  It did however nearly go pear shaped on our last day. I was taking the awning down (clothed), and Mrs Dev was in the caravan packing up. I had finished,  and opend the door to tell her so. She was stood at the sink still naked, and her bottom was on show to the rest of the site.  😮
