Thank you for these comments, I guess its another hang up I'd have to get over, but I think it will take time and help. Thank you all.
P.s I wasn't suggesting children be banned, I was just inquiring as to the availability of separate adult only areas at events, meetings etc.
Thanks again.

Our 4 grandsons & their parents have been on naturist holidays with us. The first time they all came with us their mother was concerned for the children's safety but within a couple of days she realised that there was nothing to worry about and the boys enjoyed the total freedom of naturist holidays.

Thank you, this makes perfect sense. So I guess I start with adult only areas, make friends and see where it goes from there. Thanks again.
Chris.
I can only repeat my usual question:
"Why is it dangerous for children to know what people look like?"

Do not do unto others as you would that they should do unto you. Their tastes may not be the same.

John I think you've missed my point. I am scared of being seen as some kind of pervert or paedophile for being naked around children!

That is hardly likely when there are a dozen or more other men present.

I think that's something you need to try and get over Chris. John's correct - if you are at an event with loads of other men (and women) why would you feel people see you as a kind of pervert?
The truth is, if you start looking for places that advertise themselves as adult only naturist venues, you're going to find many things - but not true naturists.
Thank you all, I needed this reassurance. Yes I understand what you mean John, I obviously hadn't looked at it from that angle, thank you. Ok, so onwards and upwards, if even a slightly bit nervous. Thank you once again.
Chris.
Good for you Davie.
A rant it may have been, but it was expressed in a reasonable and polite manner.
And most importantly, it helped to place these matters in perspective.
Too old to have regrets, but still young enough to make mistakes
as this was started by me.
our first full family naturist activity was at the dubious naturist beach of cap d'agde in france. we now want to expand our naturist activities. this is proving rather difficult other than france. lots of places advertise themselves as a naturist hotel etc. but when asked about bringing a child they say no we are adult only. whether this is because they can't be bothered with having children at their hotel or are frightened in some bizarre way of the nude is rude theory, i can't make my mind up.
but as experienced naturism i love it my daughter loves it my husband loves it. children are natuarl naturists they have no sexual context at all. having said that she did have the biggest snigger on her face when she came accross lots of naked people in the park in the naturiste village. it was about context. she didn't even notice that everyone was naked on the beach just in the town.
my last point if naturist places don't allow children to be naked at their venues then in 20 yrs time there will be no naturists.

I'd be surprised if you'd have any problems at most of the Spanish or Croatian naturist resorts. And certainly not in the Netherlands, Germany and Scandinavia. And probably not at Austrian, Hungarian or Swiss sites.
And there is massive number of different places to stay in France. Cap d'Agde may not have been the ideal choice for a first family naturist holiday, although the campsite there is generally perfectly family-friendly as far as I'm aware.

Being nude in the presence of others IS avery personal matter, as you said. My reluctant wife tried it with me on a sparsely populated island only to have 4 men in a dune buggy appear out of no where to drive up close and gawk for a few minutes. It caused much damage to my wife's ever wanting to try again. I am hoping she will eventually go to a resort with me, try it, and enjoy it so much she becomes a nudist.
Since nudity is so frowned upon in the USA, I plan to have her visit some of Europe"s topless and/or CO beaches on vacation with me, getting her accustomed to seeing how much fun we nudists have. I feel certain she will join in once she realizes true nudists aren't gawkers....just nudists and family members enjoying the freedom of no clothes.
