Sounds like a good idea, we thought of doing it earlier in the summer but never got round to doing it, so the answers is we would both be up for painting and being painted, though I think someones artistic skills will be much better than mine!  🙂

I'm quite sure they do body painting at Nudefest, you can buy a day pass, you don't have to stay on the site to attend, so could be worth looking into.

There's nothing stopping you trying, if it's no good they can just wash it off and you can try again, it would only be a bit of fun, if enough people were interested maybe we could arrange a naturist corner body painting weekend somewhere, 🙂 you could always practise on me Shiraz, I'm not sure if it tickles or not, not having ever done it, maybe if it was just a brush on your skin then it would most likly tickle, but I would think the paint going on your skin would prevent it tickling too much, I suppose it depends how ticklish someone is also.

Having been body painted at Nudefest and Alton Towers and the Bristol WNBR I can say that I didn't find it ticklish, just that the paint felt a bit cold when being applied 🙂

I went to a demo once where we were shown how to do it. I have done it again since a couple of times and it's not that difficult when you have been shown to get reasonable results.
The best thing to do is buy white, black and 1 or 2 other colours of Snazaroo water based paints.

Apply base with a damp piece of sponge. (chop up an old bath sponge)
Use a 10 to 15 mm straight edged art brush to apply detail.

We did big cats (orange base, white and black spots or stripes). This is a really effective design to start.

I know its an old subject, but interesting too.  There's no great mystery about it - you can buy the paint on eBay and its fun for a group of friends to experiment.  R is quite artistic - used to paint small watercolours of birds - so she usually gets given the brush.  We have had a few sessions while having naturist get-togethers, usually with the ladies being on the receiving end of the paintbrush.
I'd say give it a try - its no big deal and if you make a mess you can wash it off and start again!  One lady at a B & B we stayed at a year or two ago was so reluctant to wash off R's efforts that she went to bed without showering.  We heard the next morning that the sheets had suffered though!

That sounds interesting.  I take it you didn't get there in the end?
