...walking around at home is a great way to start...with the winter coming you can be warm and comfortable at surprisingly low temperatures.

That's very true. I just spent all today up to mid afternoon naked in the house and without the heating on.

............  do you have to be a confident person to do this. I am not confident at all.

Be yourself.  Take your time.    Naturism is recreational not obligatory.
Each of these things are much more important than being confident.
Enjoy the adventure.
We look forward to meeting you and getting to know you.

I don't think you need confidence, but to just "do it"?  Some have found that doing simple and private things is a good first start, sleeping nude, or lounging around in the house.  Then try going nude in a "same sex" environment is a good way to start your "out of the home experience" (for example gong to a health club and changing and showering in a locker room) just to experience being nude around others.

When I've talked to "first timers" into trying it, I tell them they have nothing to worry about.  Naturists are the most friendly group of people in the world and always look out for each other.

If you're going to a beach/pool or hot tub, swimming without a suit is the best feeling, you don't have to worry about sand getting into places or your suit riding you...it's so much more enjoyable.  I hope this helps you.
