Just spent a couple days on this quirky, but lovely naturist island. Pictures speak louder than words...

Wonderful photos. They almost make you able to smell the "maquis" just by looking at them...
Great photo's, it looks like a lovely place.

Many thanks for posting the fabulous photos taken on Ile du Levant - they bring back many happy memories of our trip there.

All the photos are great, but I especially like those with steep footpaths - so typical!
Thanks for the nice comments...
Each time we go, our daily routine is to make our way to the end of the footpath along the sea before it gets too hot! (About a 1/2 each way!) Great place for photo ops, and a refreshing way to start the day. A good life

Looks like a really nice place for a holiday.
Looks like a really nice place for a holiday.
Yes, it is. But as NakedDaniel writes, it is "quirky", and quite different from any other naturist resort - so you'd better know what you're in for before you go.
There has been a thread devoted to รle du Levant on this forum: http://www.naturist-corner.net/community/index.php?topic=4823.0
The quirkiness caused me to love the place and my wife, who is also naturist, to not wish for another holiday there.
Mind you, the fact that we had the worst May week of weather that the island had experienced for many years didn't help.

Yes, it bears reemphasizing the "quirky" part. I think the reason I've felt compelled to write so much about the place is the fact that it's so difficult to figure out the rules. Where nudity is permitted? Where it is permitted, but NOT typical? How do I choose a place to stay where I won't feel out of my element? It took a couple trips just to sort that much out, so we could really relax and enjoy our time on the island.
Now we know the shortcuts around the island that allow the most time clothes-free, have noticed when you're most likely to see people "naked people near the port," (supposedly NOT permitted, but we've seen it frequently), the best places for a naked lunch and the best time during the day for nude hiking along the sea.
Hoping a few others can benefit from our research! ๐
