What are the beaches like in Spain during the summer school holidays? Taking my family on holiday next summer and would like to try and introduce my textile partner to naturism.

Son Bou in Menorca, mixed beach, ideal for testing he water. there are no visible nudist areas, they are natural gatherings. great beach, only  lacks a busy nightlife.

I haven't been there but for children I think Son Bou would be better if they want to go in the water than Fuerteventura, a lot of the time, it seems the waves in Fuerteventura preclude swimming. Son Bou appears to be a children friendly beach in that way.

I would try Vera Playa!! Certain parts of the beach totally nude and other parts more mixed c/o, so an easy way to make the transition

Ask me about Vera Playa naturist apartments to rent or check out my website (5% discount to NC members): http://www.veraplayavacations.com.

All of the apartment complexes (urbanisations) at Vera Playa have outside pools and a few have inside heated pools; but all are no costumes.

At Vera Playa there is also a textile water park with slides (behind the Consum supermarket).

I agree that Son Bou on the south coast of Menorca could be a very good choice. It's certainly family friendly and the sea is generally calm and good for youngsters - it's a lovely beach.

Son Bou offers a couple of large hotels at one end of the shore and there are also plenty of apartments and villas available for self-catering. I would imagine the whole resort area might be more conducive for a young family.

Another point to mention about mid-summer school holidays in southern Spain, it will be hot, but at Vera Playa probably VERY hot! Our kids nearly melted when we took them one August at the same age as yours. The temperatures are typically more modest on Menorca.

Additionally, there's likely to be a greater choice of ordinary package holidays available from the UK to Son Bou, than to Vera Playa, for example.

Check out some of the Google images of Son Bou:

I don't think I will get my partner to the vera playa complex itself, but there are other textile complexes nearby . My first aim is to try get them to join my on the beach.  Son bou is looking more attractive at the moment.

Very happy to recommend Playa de Pals ..... Close to Begur - between Girona and Spanish /French border.
We go there EVERY YEAR and have a great time.
Accommodation close by can be found at a large camp CYPSELLSA ..... This is a textile camp but if your interest us beac naturism it more than hits the spot. Good luck

Be aware that the beaches and resorts are usually very busy during the Spanish school holidays. This includes naturist beaches and resorts because the Spanish people are generally at ease with public nudity.

We live near and use Almanat beach, can get crowded as adjoining campsite users are there too during busy holiday times but the campsite does bring advantages such as the restaurant on the beach and other facilities.

All the best, naturally
