Hi, we are looking at getting into life modelling but have no real experience at the moment. If anyone can help us build experience please get in touch. Thanks!

i used to life model when i was younger the main thing for me to start with was trust - once you have established that you can relax 🙂

Thanks for the tip. Trust is a big thing, being naked when others aren't and the centre of attention is quite daunting but I imagine quite rewarding seeing the results.

if you can gain the trust you will enjoy it enormously and seeing the results from the drawing/photo takes is very rewarding

Depends what you are wanting,if just decent drawings or photos of yourselves, then there are folk on here happy to help, I'm a half decent photographer, and I'm sure there are other artists on here, if you're wanti to do public then try contacting local college, they usually have art classes and may want models, try google, to find local classes , they too may appreciate you contact

You may find this article interesting:

Very positive view from someone trying it for the 1st time.

Hi Nudeyorkies!

I have modelled for a life drawing class. Initially it was an article in H&E magazine about how some classes were struggling to get models.
I decided to contact a class run by a gallery in the city centre.
After a 30 minute interview I was accepted.
The first couple of times I found nerve racking!
It does get easier.
If you would like more about my experience please feel free to pm me.

Being nude in front of strangers is the easy part.  Creating and holding interesging and inspiring poses for long periods of time without moving is the hard part.

There's two of you. Even if you can't draw you can model for each other and test your ability to do the posing. If you can't work through a bit of pain and discomfort you won't make a life model.

If it was as easy as stripping off and standing about for a while a lot more people would do it.  So practice with each other before you go to do a paid session and embarass yourself when you have to give up a long pose when you can't hold it.
