On a dull day here in Yorkshire I was just day dreaming about some of the clubs which I have visited.

I have looked on this forum but was unable to find any mention of Broadlands Sun near Norwich (apologies if there are posts about Broadlands which I haven't spotted).

I think Broadlands is a lovely site where everybody is friendly.

I am not a member there so Day Visits are limited by their rules to two visits per year which is a great shame as the site is very clean, well kept, has a lovely woodland walk and a lovely, covered swimming pool.

Broadlands was the first and only landed club we've been to. We liked it but work ( we owned 364 day a year shop ) got in the way. The cost of joining and only spending the odd day there didn't add up.

Work always gets in the way of more naked time!

We have belonged to Broadlands a couple of times over the years, but didn't persevere on either occasion.  The second time we belonged, in the Nineties, we would go there quite often in the middle of the day and have lunch.  The food was fine but the person in charge of it wasn't particularly customer-friendly, and was quite critical once when I asked if we could have something to eat, well after 'opening time' on a day when I was on a tight schedule.  After that we gave up on it, preferring the open spaces of the Norfolk coast or the seclusion of our garden.

I have been to broadlands and had an enjoyable visit.
couple of things to know:
1. you cannot swim in pool on your own no matter your age.
2. they dress in the evenings at club house >:(

Keep On Smiling:)

The dressing in the clubhouse is an absurd one. Thankfully at YSS and White Rose it's the accepted thing to be nude.

'I figure life's a gift and I don't intend wasting it. You never know what hand you're gonna get dealt next.' Titanic.'Shine as a glow worm if you cannot as a star.' Thomas Andrews, shipbuilder.
'We'll miss the matinee but we'll make the night show.' The Greatest Show on Earth 1952.

My late wife and I visited Broadlands in the summer many times.  We loved the place and cannot speak too highly of it.  The wearing clothes in the clubhouse only applies to events, I don't think it is a rule but it is what they do and personally we didn't have a problem with it.  The rule about swimming is a safety one.  With the previous cover on the pool, there was no way you could see inside so if anyone was in difficulty they would have been on their own.  They have kept the rule even though the present cover is all glass, but really it is not a problem as there are very few times when the pool is empty during the day and hey! it is a matter of safety.  It is possible to drown at any age and they don't want you doing it on their patch.

There was a period when they had a couple running the bistro.  They could be a bit sour at times.  I wonder if that was when you visited R&J.

I haven't been back since my wife died.  We had so many happy times there I just couldn't face going on my own.  However, my daughter has just bought a family tent and is talking about visiting next summer.  The lure of the grandchildren might just be sufficient draw for me to take the old, literally - me and the wagon, camper down into Norfolk.

We've been on a couple of occasions over the August Bank Holiday period and have had a happy time and met many friendly people there. It's a site we would return too. The "sour couple" - yes I know who you mean but they were OK and I found it quite funny on one occasion when one didn't know what the other had agreed to. They didn't put us off and we actually found them quite helpful.

En route to the site we passed the St George's whisky distillery, an added attraction!

Emnesty, the last time we belonged was in the mid-nineties.  I remember on one occasion the woman was playing mini-ten when the meal time had started and when I went to remind her she should be open I got an earful!
