I'm from South Staffs but williing to travel for a nice walk. Has anyone ever organised a small group outing with maybe an someone that knows the area to give some of us newbies a bit of confidence with naked walking for the first time. I appreciate that too large a group would maybe attract unwanted attention but it might be worth a few of us getting together.

Staffordshire has great potential, from a stroll around Hints right up to the Staffordshire Moorlands including the Roaches and Three Shires Head. My next walk depending on the weather and commitments might be either next week or in about three weeks time (decorating permitting) up to the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border area around Shinning Tor.

I tend to look at the weather forecast the night before or even in the morning and just "take off" which makes walking with others difficult. I'm not being anti-social but I love the freedom now I'm retired to just go when the whim takes me.

What perhaps I should do  is make a note on the forum of where I'm going just before I set off, then perhaps I might meet another free-ranger.

Hi Dave

I'm trying to generate some interest for one near me and you aren't too far away.

Take a look at the thread on Leicester and Nottingham.

Thanks

If you're a couple in the Midlands and are under 50...say hi.

I used google maps satellite view to check out the local area for a woodland where I could go for a naked walk. I found an area between Burton-on-Trent and Uttoxeter (Marchington woodlands) where I could park the car on a quiet lane and walk straight into the woods. First time I went I didn't venture far, but I've since been back a couple of times and walked for 2 hours each time. I even left my clothes in the car so I couldn't chicken out half way round!
I loved the feeling of the air on my skin and forgot about worrying about being seen as the woods are quite dense. Would be nice to have some company next time I go but I'm only able to get out during the day on Fridays.

I had a small job to do in Uttoxeter this morning so, thinking there might be somewhere suitable for a short naked walk on my way home, I searched the site and came up with your posting. Not sure if I found exactly the same spot as you but there was a place where I could pull the car in at the side of the lane without creating an obstruction and paths went off on either side of the road past wooden barriers. I walked some way along one then came back and tried the other one - about an hour and a quarter in total. Saw nobody whilst walking and only a couple of tractors and a van along the road. One of the tractor drivers saw me whilst I was by the car taking a photo but he didn't seem bothered.

A very enjoyable little wander. Thanks for sharing it.
