I agree. A little of both, and able to choose for myself which I want to participate in. If there's an area where people can choose to congregate and socialise together and areas where people can be off on their own and the one does not impinge too much on the other that would seem ideal to me.

As we live busy working lives as well as grandparenting duties, we prefer a kid free place, no offence to families, but been there done that!, so if an area free from children would be possible, great.

Some places get let down by substandard toilet/shower and utensil washing facitities, so We would be greatful for improved facilities.

A healthy mix of activities both daytime and evening, for social networking etc and areas for peace and solitude.

some areas that are indoors, especially with the UK inclement weather patterns.

Like Pevors farm idea of having a local cook/chef linked to their site, so instead of cooking just order in meals and puds

Liking the jacuzzi and sauna idea

We're the opposite, we have kids and love having them around, we love camping at naturist sites and also think your idea sounds perfect. I never quite understand the no kids attitudes some people have (no offence) but without them there won't be any naturists in a few years. So long as they are well behaved and polite what's the problem?

I agree there's no problem with well behaved kids. Lovely to hear them in the background enjoying themselves. Good though when teh adults can get together for a BBQ or a good chinwag.

Like most I'd like somewhere were there's both areas for areas for peace and quite and areas to socialise in. I like quiet areas for camping with a hook up and the facilities not too fat away.

Most naturist venues in Britain that are not clubs are adult only. That is not a good thing.

The site you describe lends itself to escape and relaxation and I suspect it would attract a more mature clientele. That is not necessarily a bad thing as the average naturist is probably over 40.
Ideally, the place would be open to all genuine naturists: singles, couples and families.
But if one of those groups makes it difficult for the others to enjoy the place, you'll have to act in the best interest of the business.

We love children, we have two of our own and now even grandchildren, all of who bring great joy to our lives but we do not need to be with them 24/7.

To us naturism is something we do for ourselves to enjoy, sorry if that sounds selfish, and not with the normal hustle and bustle of a life.

What we and many others prefer is naturism with comfort in the company of like minded people i.e. we have no desire to be at one with nature whilst being naked and have long since gone beyond the Boy Scout stage.

The perfect site in the UK would reflect these needs which currently are not generally available and we believe many others have similar needs.

Clearly there has to be a business model that works but there does appear too be a gap in the market at this level.

Happy to contribute further if it assists the project to move forward.

The first thing I look for is whether it’s family friendly or not.  If it is, I don’t go there.  I like my holidays to be peaceful and relaxing and you don’t get that with children around so adults only is essential.

I would need a chalet/bungalow/villa.  Somewhere with a bedroom, bathroom, small lounge area and a patio.  I don’t do shared bathrooms or shower blocks and like to have my own space when I need it. 

I’d like a bar and a menu so I can choose what to eat without having to do any cooking.  No Big screen tv but some background music would be nice.  I love to socialise and chat so somewhere to do this without a tv would be good.

A pool would be essential and also a hot tub.  If there were grounds to walk in that would be lovely too.

Having been  club members for over 40 years we have obviously seen many changes take place. There used to be more children than adults, most members camped, we did have basic facilities but had to take drinking water to the site until we could afford to have a borehole. There was a cooker and washing up facilities in the cottage and a room with an open fire where members would get together
You had to queue up to get a game of miniten or volleyball it was so popular, all members were good friends and could be relied on for help both at the club or if in difficulty at home. just like a big family. If anything was needed , materials or labour, someone knew where they could find it either free or at knockdown cost. Running costs were minimal as we lived within out income.

How things have changed, The sound of children is only heard when we invite local people to visit the site every couple of years, we must have a modern up to date kitchen, social room, television, pool table, crystal clear swimming pool, hot tub, outside contractors do do some of the work, plans for a new posh toilet and shower block.

Club naturism has changed from a simple place where families could afford to and wanted to take their children, knowing them to be in a safe environment with a healthy attitude towards nudity to something approaching a posh exclusive country club with all the facilities and the accompanying costs, core membership, while still viable at a cost, has fallen to  a fraction of what it used to be when we had the embarrassing situation of having to refuse membership because with 70 families, the site was not large enough to take any more or park cars.

A change for the better ??

No it isn't Ray. How do we think naturism can thrive in the UK if families are less and less welcome? While other countries have a family focussed approach to naturism, we do not, and it will still be viewed as a suspect adult activity.

Some clubs are better than others. Some swims have faced problems with local Authorities not allowing under 18s. In this scenario swims either have to fight, move or accept the situation.

The latter is not so difficult to understand if there is no alternative venue and the Council will not listen. Believe me finding alternative venues is not easy. It's often not the naturism that's the problem but finding a slot to actually meet. For some its a choice, accept, or have no swim at all - Hobson's choice and unsatisfactory to say the least. I think that without knowing all the facts it's difficult to critise clubs, and swims in particular.

Part of the blame for the demise in family attendance is the awesome power of the safeguarding industry and the perception that any naked children must be perceived as a step on the slippery slope. Don't get me wrong I support Safeguarding and have been trained to teach it it, but it can and does blinker pragmatic and sensible approaches to what is and is not in order.

Back to the theme and yes a family orientated environment please.
