Hi, I have also posted a query about this on tripadvisor (not mentioning about nudity) hoping that a local may respond, which they have. He/she asks is this http://www.visitisleofwight.co.uk/things-to-do/yaverland-beach-p970111 the place I mean. Does that tie in with the Culver Beach you mentioned.
Also this may be stupid question, but are the beaches mentioned dedicated as nude; or is it that Plod has not nicked anyone yet, so it is assumed to be safte?
Thanks

I am quite open to meeting other folks at organised nude venues that are within my reach financially and socially.
Yes, thats the beach at the far end of the picture.
Neither Yaverland or Atherton are official, but both are well used on a nice day, Fossil hunters do walk to the end from time to time so discretion is probably the best option. You can see people walking up from a long way off.

Yes, fossil hunters use all the beaches on the West Wight from ATHERFIELD to Compton but they are usually too busy digging in the cliff to notice me passing at the water's edge!
Well it looks as though I willl not be going to Yaverland http://myinforms.com/en-gb/a/34227861-isle-of-wight-safety-warning-after-yaverland-cliff-fall/
Does anyone know of any other nearby nude beaches apart from Blackgang; which I have discounted because of difficult access.

I think you may have to try the descent to Blackgang If not, I would suggest Atherton, slightly further along the coast

Hi, I couldn't find any trace of Atherton beach although there is an Atherfield beach (AKA Atherfield Point). Is this the same one? http://www.thebeachguide.co.uk/south-west-england/isle-of-wight/atherfield.htm
Also though I found this, is it still available? http://www.thebeachguide.co.uk/south-west-england/isle-of-wight/sandown.htm

I was trying to make it clear here, that it's ATHERFIELD, not Atherton!
Thanks for the clarification vinww I had missed it.

The cliff is not high from the Atherfield beach access path at Shepherd's Chine and going left (South) to Atherfield Point should be no problem. Further South beyond the Point is definitely dodgy and apart from the cliff falls, you can get cut off by a high tide, since there is NO access up the cliff until reaching Blackgang beach.
Going right (North) is perfectly useable on the high pebble bank beyond the Atherfield camp site. There is a nasty-looking high cliff about !.5 miles on but you would not be walking that far on the largish pebbles on a hot day!
Beware of the swift current along this part of the coast, where the beach shelves steeply.
Hope you are not put off by the above! It's a great spot. Enjoy!
I visited Atherfield beach this week and it would appear that there have been further land slips. I walked south from Shepherds Chine, but couldn't really get further than about 5 minutes walk from the steps.
Regardless, I had the place to myself and spent a nice hour on the beach and a quick dip in the sea, all naked of course.
