Hi Guys,

We are off to Menorca next Friday, i wondering if anyone has been to any of the beeches there. Wife is none naturist and am trying to gently encourage her to give it a go. Can anyone recommended a reasonably busy beach with minimal chance of hassle.

thanks

Tim

Try Son Bou. If you walk along the beach until you come to the start of the naturist section. There, naked people and clothed people tend to mingle, so you nor your wife should not feel uncomfortable.

"Try to live a good life. Don't be afraid to be what you are'. some bloke in the pub.

my wife likes son bou,  shes happy to sit naked watching the world go by or reading whils i go for a paddle or a wander for a mile or so along the beach.

you get a mix of all ages  from elderly female naturists on their own to clothed families .

from the beach carpark keep the sea on your left and keep walking till you find a spot your happy with.

have a look on google maps ans satellite pics before you go and it will be familiar when you get there.

we found the more isolated beaches on the north coast have got a lot busier with clothed walkers in particular doing the round the coast footpath. but on the plus side you can walk the rural sections without clothes meeting few people

Thanks guys, appreciate the info, i will give a go and let you know how we get on. Hopefully we will have a fledgling naturist when we get back, but more likely she will be a bit more relaxed☺

I prefer the many smaller beaches to Son Bou.

Cala Pilar is probably my favorite. You need a car to get there and then its a 40 min walk. But the walk is part of the experience, it is a wonderful walk through pine forest. However if the sea is rough it is not always possible to get in. Last time I was there (end of May 2016) I could not get in the water because of the jellyfish (purple stingers). But I saw breeding Bee-eaters and a Two-tailed Pasha on the walk. And look out for the pigs in the stone pen next to the car park. At the end of May there were 2 sows and 18 piglets probably less than  a week old.

Cala Mitjana and Cala Trebaluger on the south coast east of Santa Galdana are well worth a visit. Trebaluget has no car access so you can park at Cala Mitjana and then its a 40 min or so walk along the cliffs. I've been to Mitjana when their have been quite a few naked bodies on the beach and also when I have been the only one their who has been naked.

I have found that you can be naked on almost any beach away from the hotels.

Well Guys, your recommendation for Son Bou was top notch, had a fantastic afternoon there. I walked the length from were we pitched up to the hill at the far end, wonderful. On the Mrs front, I can report she was very chilled with naturist's around and went topless. Apparently she has always said she would. Must get my ears and memory sorted they are obviously faulty 😂😂😂😂.

Had a great day today going to try up north tomorrow. Thanks again chaps😃

Great that your wife went topless and you enjoyed your walk along the beach. Did you go to Santo Tomas which is the next bay along but quite a drive? There are two bits to that beach the one by the hotels etc and one to the right of the car park which can't be seen from the first. This has textiles as you join it but its OK to be bare from there to the end of the beach, nice mix of people and families there.

Ok guys, had a fantastic first week, found some great beaches, not far from Ciutadella is Cala d'Angaiarens the main beach has two horse shoe shaped bays,  beyond this is a smaller much nicer beach it's a bit of a walk around the back of the headland but it's through woods and is dead easy well worth the visit, lots of naturist and a few textiles. Oh we're ready to go will report on others later🌞

There is also a good website  baremenorca.co.uk  Perhaps consider a local hire car to get to as many as possible.

Just back from a great 2 weeks in Menorca.

Really loved Son Bou which we visited a number of times. Car park directly behind the beach with a short walk (across the stream outflow) to the naturist section. Then about a mile of sand where you can just pick your spot and strip off in your own space. It was great to be able to walk the full length of the beach by the sea and then return on the rope-marked footpath in the dunes (with boardwalk connections to the beach at intervals) completely naked. There were a number of textiles on the beach but mostly naturist - couples, singles (male & female) and families. It felt so relaxed that I didn't bother getting dressed until I reached the boardwalk leading to the car park and on one occasion went as far as the shower by the carpark before putting on some shorts. Nobody bothered.

We also went to Macareletta and whilst it is a beatiful beach it was very crowded with the naturists there very much in the minority (shouldn't have gone at a weekend I suppose) and, in our opinion, not worth the effort involved in getting there.

Hope to post a few photos in the Media Centre.
