Picking up on a discussion in another place. I'd like to explore the idea of doing a walk in the South West a bit further.  Not sure of the complexities of what is involved and not sure of my availability (which could be from 100% free to Zero, depending on my work situation post June).

But for starters, is anyone actually interested in doing something Devon / Cornwall based? I can put together a contact list of e-mails to start linking likeminded folk together or even use FB for something positive!

I'd also need to catch up with other walk organisers (hopefully at Nuddefest) to see what kind of arrangements need to be put in place - talk of insurance cover etc. does start to raise a few alarm bells over the complexity of what sounded like a peaceful stroll.

Feel free to PM me or post here and let's see what develops.

Can do Blackdown Hills, Quantocks or Exmoor. I know of some routes over the latter two. My idea (thwarted a fortnight ago but still my aim) is to kip over at Acorns and then start early on Exmoor in the morning, or else pick a good looking day and drive to Exmoor from home in Taunton.

I'm also maybe looking at doing a walk on Bodmin moor during the Newperran Naturally week (26 June - 3 July) at the original Nudefest venue which is once again holding a fully c-o week at their campsite. I'll likely be there in the second half of that week and might ask the Bodmin expert, Seaside Naturist for a good route.

Any appitite/availability for an Exmoor walk with an early start (~8am) this week whilst the weather's good? The route I'm thinking is up to 8 mile with a skinnydipping opportunity. Short cuts possible. Drink at a pub en route also possible.

Sorry for the lack of progress to date.
I thought I might have lots of free time this summer as i had a contract coming to it's end in June.  Rather unexpectedly I got another job and started immediately and what was supposed to be three days a week has turned out to be virtually full time.
Whilst good for the bank balance,  it has left me no time to work on a walk route as yet.
Might still get something sorted for Sept.  Simon did you manage your walk on Exmoor?  Would be great to hear if you have a viable CO walk.
Keep in touch everyone.
Keith

I would love to do a walk, don't know the area but I an booked in to stay at Acorns sun 7th to Fri 12 Aug, no plans so at the moment so any day would be handy. If there are walks to be had from there, then ... what not to like ?

I hope this doesn't fizzle out. I'm in Cornwall, but very close to the Devon border so Exmoor, Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor or The Quantocks would be very appealing. Obviously it will have to be next year, but I really hope this happens. A late reply, but I've only just joined this delightful site whilst searching for local walks.
