Had a beautiful day at Holkham yesterday (Saturday) with brilliant weather. Only two others using that section sadly though. Hard to imagine a more stunning beach. Walked on Brancaster on another day which took breath away. Extraordinary. Had a lovely few days at Bolding Way, highly recommended, and may post more at another time.

Glad you had a good time there Brigitte. I wish I was able to have got away and spent some time there,Havent been this year yet but then again the weather hasn't been good when I have been free.
Brigitte glad you enjoyed the day, it's amazing on Saturday I was in the garden and have to run for cover from the rain and I only live 5 miles from Holkham. The beach section was better when we were able to use more of it than the confined area now.

I was tempted to head the beach yesterday but some DIY took priority
Just to let people know, The film crew have left the beach and hopefully by the weekend things will be back to normal. As you can imagine it was packed yesterday. I went for a walk with my dog at 7pm and people were still sunbathing, although the temperature had gone down slightly.
It was our first time to Holkham beach for quite a while and we have not seen so many folk on the beach at Holkham on a week day for a long time. Slightly spoilt by the young pervert, who clearly was not a naturist, who insisted on walking as close to unattended females in what can only be described as a state of arousal and to those outside the designated naturist section too. How long before there are further complaints made to the authorities. Very sad.
I was there yesterday and it was great. There were a lot of people and the water was nice and cool. I cannot wait to go back and enjoy the hot weather again. I did find that guy walking around aroused the whole time a bit weird.
It is only 40 minutes for us to get there so must make a visit soon

I have been missing out on the sun so far, but hope to catch some next week on my holiday ;D
Lovely weather at Holkham yesterday. Wall to wall sunshine but the sea is still cold.
I was at Holkham beach yesterday and the two wardens who periodically patrol the out of bounds dunes brought in the Police. It was late afternoon and we were leaving the beach when a 4x4 which was on the way back to the car park with one of the wardens past me. I then saw him driving back with a police officer. When we got to Lady Anne drive car park there were two Police cars and several officers.
Earlier in the Afternoon I had seen one couple walking nude from the naturist beach to the dunes on a couple of occasions which is forbidden. They should know better, it's clearly signed. Also one clothed guy could be observed from the naturist beach walking back and forth along the dunes in the distance, sometimes walking to the naturist beach to just stand there watching couples. It was very uncomfortable.
This is all very sad. I don't know exactly what went on, because we had to leave. But this ties in with what two Wardens told me a few weeks ago, that they are still having trouble in the dunes and that a total ban on naturism at Holkham is still very much on the cards.
I have to also say, that we have observed activity on the designated naturist section that should not be going on.
Tricky this one, it's got to the point where as a naturist I wouldn't report any bad behaviour, for fear of adding to the argument for closing the naturist section.
Shame because it is genuinely beautiful.
Still, it is perhaps worth emailing the Holkham estate, impressing upon them the argument for keeping the beach as it is, perhaps how unlikely you would be to pay their parking charge or buy their coffees and ice creams if things change.
As for here, it might not be the worst thing to post publicly here and elsewhere about seeing the police and estate rounding up the wrong'uns, it might just be the sort of deterrent needed to protect our interests.
You know, it seems to me the best thing is to not give a beach official C/O status. I've never experienced issues on the well-used unofficial ones.
we are planning a week all the way down Norfolk and wanted to know if Holkam beach is recommended by the members of this site. Also is there any other places they would recommend for some naked time there. Steve

I recommend Bolding Way unreservedly. We were charmed by that and North Norfolk so much we are returning for a longer stay in June. Absolutely stunning area, best enjoyed from the coast path and lovely little towns, the like I had thought had vanished in 1962. There is also an excellent coasthopper bus service to give the driver a rest. We spent one day at Holkham and although the beach is lovely, (it should be) you are forced into a comparatively small area, you have to hope the sand will be dry, there was only four other naturist males on the beach on a Saturday, and one of them a complete nuisance and you have to pay £6 for the privilege. You might have a different experience, and all you can do is try it. ( The walk to the beach is very nice). There is thankfully though a lot more to the area than Holkham but insofar as other naturist opportunities may be on the coast we weren't bothered about finding as we had the privacy and mod cons of the site to go back to after walks and trips like the Blakeney boat seal trip. £6 to park at Holkham and no loo...

The Poppy line (North Norfolk Railway) steam train from Holt to Sheringham is also a must. I think there is an unofficial beach at Horsey as well.Beautiful part of the country. 🙂 🙂
