Haha, there are probably more incriminating photos of me in existence already, such is life

Like many things in life (but not all) it is always best to be honest and open about it. My way though was not quite this but worked out well. I chose to never promote my desire for naturism at the beach and spas etc. but don't advertise it. If asked, I'm honest. I think the barrier for those that don't get it is that separation of nudity and sex (contextually)!

Enjoy N-C

Re JMNude's "re not telling your parents - As a parent I would suggest you do".

I am torn.  As parent - if the Lad had said such a thing I would have been very glad to hear it - MJ would have been very disturbed.  No one would have been disinherited, but 10 years later she would still worry about it and blame herself.

As a child :  I would have had no reaction from Dad, silent disapproval from Mom, one sister would be disturbed, one fine with it, one brother no response, one even more agin me than he is.

You know your family best.  You need to weigh the outcomes of sececy against the outcomes of openness against the outcomes of accidental comng out.

Thanks everyone for your positive and encouraging comments! 😀

It's tricky to know how parents would react but I might consider mentioning it sometime. Funnily enough I can remember my mum saying once how when I was a kid I never wanted to wear clothes, maybe we're conditioned that way...

Yeah, the erection thing has been an issue a few times. The thing is it wasn't because I saw a particular person who I liked, more just it was a nice feeling. It usually seems to happen when I first strip off, maybe just because it feels different, but I'm fine when I get used to it. Unfortunately you don't always have control over it but I always try to be discreet and hope nobody is bothered. Hopefully they realise I'm a young guy and it doesn't mean anything...

Welcome!

Its good to hear a positive story from another young naturist. I fancied trying it for a long time before I finally had a go last year at Holkham and so glad I did!

Admittedly I'm 30 next year but I do feel young as compared to the majority of naturists I see on internet forums. However I've recently been to France and spent a couple of days on the beach and noticed a much more even spread age wise, quite a few younger folks both couples or alone.
I have always kept myself to myself although other than that one day at Holkham I've only done the few days on French beaches and don't speak enough of the language.
I've not had any issues with erections yet so would hope that the more I'm used to the environment the less likely it would be, if I have suspected anything might happen I've always been discreet but its so far never happened.

Hey James, good to hear from someone younger, and I reckon 30 is definitely still young haha. Yeah it can be difficult when you're on you're own to get chatting, especially as most are older and probably feel awkward about speaking to someone younger. I have had a few good chats with people at beaches, and they seem to welcome someone my age getting into the naturist lifestyle.

As I say my only experience of a UK beach was my first visit.
In June I had a go at life modelling with an artist who was very accommodating, arranging for just her and two friends at her small personal studio rather than a class as I didn't feel confident with that, although might do now. I wanted to do it to test my self confidence being quite a shy person and it was a great experience and i felt very much at ease being in a fairly intimate social environment with everyone else clothed.
My visits to the beach this summer were all in France so as a foreigner with a limited grasp of the lingo Socialising wasn't too high on the agenda!

Fair enough! The life modelling sounds like an interesting experience. Feel free to PM me if you want to chat more.

Provided you are discreet about it if it happens and don't flaunt it nobody will be offended.

Although I and a lot of other people here may not be 'young' we were once - although I'm now pushing 60, my first public nudity experience was when I was 19, (my memory is still good).

Just my pennies worth but I think this is quite important and wish I had approached this differently at your age. Bring it up with potential girl/boy friends (can't make an assupmtion these days) very early on. Once you get the naturist bug I don't think it ever goes. Going through a relationship with a reluctant other half has been, at times, paining.

I think very early on you should try to fit it into a relevant conversation and note how often in couples one may be in a swimsuit on a nude beach the other nude, but acceptance and tollerance is all happy. You have to ask yourself how you might feel if told by your partner. "I don't want you going to nude beaches and I am definately not going."

I feel it's a bit negative what I am saying but you are young enough to have options. I only took to naturism at 30 by which time I was married with a family. My wife tried it, didn't like it (she went saying how she would hate it and I think was never going to be open minded to it or admit defeat lol) and so now I mostly go alone. She does come from time to time but keeps her bottoms on a rule and top might come off if the wind is right.

It is frustrating as she says we never spend enough time together (don't they all lol) yet we could do this together. I would like her to go nude but don't actually care if she wore a fur coat and hat, just that she would come and enjoy beach time. On the times we have been (perhaps 8 times in 10 years) I can feel the tesion and we always leave after 2 or 3 hours when I'd prefer 5 or 6. On holiday with the kids and our friends she can happily sit on a beach all day.

This is my view but what do the other men whose wives don't "do naturism" think.

So for whatever reason today I ended up telling my mum about what happened in Wales last year - and she was actually really chilled about it! She said she was proud of me for having the confidence to try something different and had no issues with it if I enjoyed it. She even said she used to enjoy topless sunbathing abroad when she was younger which was a surprise to me! I know it could have easily gone the other way so feel pretty lucky. I took a chance as we've never been too hung up as a family at home so thought it wouldn't completely shock her. Feel relieved!
