I came across this site, a guy and his wife who do many nude beach walks and sometimes with others - quite interesting reading and some useful tips re where its safe to do nude beach walks, although he and his wife don't seem that bothered by coming across many textiles (I suspect many of use would be concerned) - but interesting, he has posted many of his walks.

Great Blog, but it is a couple male and female, try doing the same as a single guy and see how long it takes before Joe public calls the police, or maybe I worry too much...........

I don't think you do Richard.  Life is unfair - fact!

The public reaction normally seems to be:
One man = pervert
Two men = gay
Mixed couple = nudists
Larger group = nudists.

+1

Unfortunately, the world does not see life through a naturist mindset.

I have done it a few times solo, on very quiet beaches with no or few textiles, who I try to avoid. If I can't avoid them I'll tend to use my backpack as a screen when they approach and pass. But I will admit it's a lot easier and comfortable when I'm walking with my wife.

I think your right single blokes do get (targeted) but thats down to the way the public percive our behaveiour, if your single and are walking along the beach(naked) near or on the sand dunes your going to be seen as a perv. or up to no good .because thats were the public see's them sculking around. if you walk down by the water or midle of the beach yess you can bee seen by everybody that passes by.but if you cover up your bits with something as they pass and speak when they go by . a polite hello, nice day .etc.then they can see your just a bloke haveing a walk along the beach enjoying the occation. and not some perv .sneeking about on the beach for whot ever reason.

be one with nature

Or in other words:
You'll be more easily accepted if you behave the same way as you would when clothed.

Done quite a few of the walks some multiple times that are mentioned in the blog,  all on my own as a single male and had few problems and I tend not to cover up when i come across people. Responses range from stopping to chat to being completely ignored despite me saying hello, I just carry on as I feel the more naturists who get out there walking and on the beaches the more the general public will accept it and it will not be an uncommon sight and therefore less of a shock. A common sense approach is what a takes but also a confidence in that we are doing nothing illegal.

Hi Cian,

Which walks did you do and how recently? I'm interested in doing some of the walks (probably next spring/summer), but as the original posts are a few years old I am concerned that changed circumstances might cause problems - e.g. opening of a new holiday camp right in the path!

Thanks.

John

Hi John, I have done all the welsh beach walks apart from the pembrey one. Monk Nash to dunraven, midweek along the beach you should have no issues, I've walked from southern down, past monk Nash and full length of next beach many times. This summer I've also walked along the coastal path on the cliff top same way which has great views. Bit further along the coast is nash point and llantwit, there is a school on this route so need to be aware and cover up. Rhossili was to busy so I wouldn't recommend but I would recommend amroth to pendine coastal path and the beaches there, again midweek is quieter. Hoping to get in another walk this weekend before it gets to cold!

Cian,

That's absolutely brilliant. I'm going to copy that information and investigate.
