WE WOULD NEVER GO HERE AGAIN.
after deciding we wanted to pull out the stops and travel into Spain we chose to ride on our motorcycle to El Templo Del Sol, a distance of approximately 550 miles from our current location. Before setting off and on route we attempted to call many time to book our stay for one night. Now although many sites require a minimum of two or three nights minimum stay, as we were only two bods, a bike and a two man tent everywhere without exception squeezed us in to a little spare space which is all we needed,.... except this place. If any of you have ridden a motorcycle for 500 miles you'll know on arrival we were tired, in need of shedding our covering of cow skin and chilling out. We were greeted by the most awful bunch of staff who showed no compassion or empathy to the fact that we'd tried many times to call in advance to book for one night and told us stay for three nights or not at all. It was 7pm, so I could not envisage a rush of campers descending on the site, they had spare places but would still not allow us to stay and turned us away.
Go there at your own peril but expect no help if you have a problem. This site is run as a commercial enterprise and doesn't offer a warm and welcoming greeting like we're used to from a naturist venue. They are only after your money.
The address to avoid is: Vía Augusta, s/n, 43890 L'Hospitalet de l'Infant, T, Spain

I expect the last thing you want after such a disappointing experience is to be told what you should have done, but... we always check Tripadvisor before going anywhere these days, and El Templo Del Sol's ratings on there are very mixed. On the bright side, putting a bad review on Tripadvisor is great therapy; conversely, a good review is also very satisfying when you've had a good experience.

We quite agree. However the issue we had that day was no internet. When we go traveling we have no fixed itinerary and decide where we're going that morning. We only had a list of names and contact numbers. I never understand the mentality of people like that. I would have understood if they were full but under the circumstances I thought they were simply horrible.

if you dont do your research properly what do you expect. Templo is brilliant we have been going there for many years. If you are not prepared to abide by the requirements what did you expect. Try getting in to naturist clubs in the uk as you did here. I think you well be faced with the same problem.

On the way home we decided to call at Croft. We'd not been there before and on arrival saw a notice on the gate saying pre-booked visitors only. So we called their number and said we were outside and could they squeeze us in. Although being fully booked we received a warm welcome and they allowed us to stay.
We're not unreasonable unpolite or argumentative people. The staff at El Templo were the opposite and we had an awful experience. Good manners cost nothing but they were simply rude. I would not expect that from anybody no matter what the circumstances.
I'm happy for you if your experience is different.

I fully agree with what Gildo says.  I have never received anything but help from the staff at El Templo del Sol.  It says on all their advertising that stays are for a minimum of 3 nights so why do you insist on staying for one only, and then blame them for not letting you in ?  If, as Gildo suggests, you had done your research properly you would have known that and hopefully booked accordingly and so discovered what a fantastic place this is.  In fact you will find another posting from myself today recommending El Templo to another couple because I know precisely what an amazing site it is.

Interesting to see the polarity of opinions.  We have never been to this particular place so cannot comment on it, but from time to time we have had experiences totally opposite to those of others who have been to a particular hotel or camp site, good and bad. I think a lot depend on an individuals expectations generally. Some demand perfection, others are a bit more laid back and go with the flow.
Sometimes when abroad  and communicating with a person who English isn't their fist language,  they can be more formal in the words they use, and they may come over as a bit abrupt in their tone.
As for trip advisor, I go back to my first point, it can be like Marmite. We are going to a hotel in Maspalomas next month, and the TripAdvisor reports range from best hotel ever to don't touch it with the proverbial.

"Try to live a good life. Don't be afraid to be what you are'. some bloke in the pub.

Interesting to see the polarity of opinions.

Especially as this morning there was a post in this very forum (in the "Spain nude hikes and activities" category) stating "For a site I cannot but recommend El Templo del Sol at L'Hospitalet de l'infant' in Catalonia."

Good afternoon,

Mrs Goldi and I would have gone there because of the good reports but they do not allow dogs.

We stayed for a week in a mobile home/chalet at El Templo a few years ago.

The site was generally attractive and the adjacent naturist beach simply stunning. However, we found the reception staff somewhat off-hand and unhelpful.

We thought we'd done our advance research carefully, but were surprised to find no bed linen provided in the accommodation. We had flown there, so had not brought any sheets or pillow cases - consequently, we asked  to hire some. We were advisedin no uncertain terms that they did not hire linen, but we could buy some disposable paper-based sheets (don't recall how much they were, but not exactly cheap). Tried the paper sheets - they were awful and unusable. Consequently, we had to go into town and buy some proper sheets and pillowcases!

A couple of days later the wooden steps up to the front door of the chalet broke when I stepped on them, and I'm not especially heavy at 75kg. Cut and bruised my leg badly. Transpired the wood was suffering from wet rot. Was there any sympathy or an apology at reception - not one bit.  🙁

Shame, because otherwise it was an OK place and we would probably return. But the reception staff really needed to buck-up their manner. And it sounds from Soulmates' experience as though they might still not have improved

not been there recently and not stayed on the site which looked ok with a great pool. but the beach is just stunning and if your not bothered about 24 he naturist then the Dutch site next door is a cheaper alternative though you may need some stout 15 gage nails for tent pegs as the ground is just short of rock hope you were accomadated here
