Situated In Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne just south of Clermont Ferrand, overlooking a beautiful mountainous vista this naturist campsite/ club is run by its membership and voluntary staff. On our arrival we received a warm and helpful welcome by the non English speaking couple on duty (husband and wife whom guiltily we forget their names).
Following an earlier misdemeanour with our tent which decided to depart our motorcycle at 130kph, then subsequently eating humble pie with two very nice motorcycle Gendarmes who returned the offending escapee minus our tent pegs we began the game of charades. 'We have lost our tent pegs'. It's a fun game, you should try playing it. With Ani drawing air triangles and me knocking in imaginary pegs with my imaginary hammer the couple eventually understood and set off to borrow pegs for us from everyone they could. Because they were so lovely here we extended our stay for an extra day.
They accommodate tents, motorhomes and caravans with or without electric hook up. Many members have their own chalets so it may be possible to rent, you'd have to enquire.
There are toilet and showering facilities which are very clean and well kept. For leisure  the site has a large outdoor swimming pool which overlooks the amazing views and a bar with outdoor seating to enjoy a cold relaxing drink. No shop or restaurant is on site but there is a town nearby where everything is available. If you like walking this is a great location we were told. We would have no hesitation visiting this site again.

Agree entirely with your observations about the site - we stayed over in our camper during September 2015. Lovely enthusiastic welcome and amazing views. Warm during the day, but because of the altitude and getting later in the season, a bit chilly in the evenings and overnight. Certainly happy to return - we were pleasantly surprised by the whole set-up.

Oh and I'd read previous favourable reports of a Suntrecker rally held there, which encouraged us to give it a go. No regrets.
