Found this website that lists a number of possible locations for skinny dipping. Unfortunatly, it no longer works!

Thanks for posting that I live in Cardiff and had no idea about the tow areas close to me. Hopefully we will have  a good summer and I can try them out. Thanks again.

I set the swimming holes wales website up nearly 10 years ago but had let it lapse about 18 months ago. I was quiet surprised to see it still up.

I would like to resurrect it and am still the registered holder of the domain name.
however I would need help with it. so any good website people who want to help please let me know.

I'm due to stay in a lodge close to Cefni Reservoir in two weeks.  Does anyone know if you can skinny dip here?  Not till the summer time of course!

Answers on a postcard please, ha ha ha.

Swimming will almost certainly be forbidden but will be perfectly safe provided you stay well clear of the water intakes and bear in mind all the usual safety precautions for swimming in cold deep water.
If in doubt about cold water safety try googling the outdoor swimming society (or similar).

I have swum at the far end of Lake Vyrnwy from the Dam inspite of the "Dim Nofio" signs. Naked of course.

I tried this link too and it did not work.I find it better to make the effort and head to the coast where there are many opportunities if you are discrete. The beach at Borth can be quiet and also the beach north of Aberdovey.. It may be necessary to wear shorts/thong to the waters edge but generally there are few people about. If time permits the official beach north of Barmouth is my favourite where you can be totally relaxed. Happy dipping.

We have skinny-dipped in many of the lakes and some streams in North Wales, the criterion being emerging into warm sunshine.  This includes right by the causeway on the very busy Miner's Track after descending from Snowdon, with all walkers having their gaze on the track and nobody ever glancing our way. I'll track down some photos and post details of locations.  These include some with friends in shady places where we preferred not to dip but others did.
