Hi Folks,
my wife and I took the opportunity to visit Brighton this weekend (no we weren't part of the marathon there). Took ourselves over to the nudist beach and were surprised how few folks there were there given the size of the population. It was a perfect day for sunbathing given the light breeze and sunshine.
Does the place ever get busy? We saw just a handful of men nude but that was it. Interesting though there were people around fully clothed strolling by with no comments or issues which was refreshing.

Love to here from locals about this

Hi Glenn

I am not a local, but I visit my sister in East Sussex at least once a year and always make a point of going to Birling Gap and Brighton, as two very different experiences.

I have only ever been on the beach at Black rock once when it's busy, most of the time it's light to moderate use but I'm not often there at the weekend, when I think it would be a bit busier. The one time it was packed, was a roasting bank holiday Sunday and there were people of all ages, including families with kids, teenagers, young adults and old adults 🙂 unfortunately the number of goons also seemed to increase proportionately and some people weren't getting the peace that they should have.
.
It won't stop me from going back though, will be there next month, over a weekend!!

Hope that helps
Paul

I used to live not far from Brighton and although didn't go to the naturist beach I was between there and the marina. From where we used to sit the naturist part always looked really busy so am surprised that it was quiet when you visited. It might just be because the marathon was on so many would be beach go far would have been either watching or running.

Marathon day has been a nice one for 2 of the last 5 there have been and the event makes travel in the city a real pain in the ass, so unless you are in walking distance you'd likely stay in.

In the summer the beach will get mobbed at the weekend with all types, as well as the oddfactor idiots. It's generally a nice beach when busy as you do feel like you are a part of something bigger.

I would usually use Shoreham beach or Birling gap if in the area as, for me at least, the vibe is better.

I've been to Brighton a few times, and it has been relatively busy.  Sadly don't get there as often as I'd like (too damn busy!).  Personally though I do prefer Shoreham - not been to Birling Gap so would welcome some feedback.

Markiemark, go to Birling Gap, you will not regret it, the people there, clothed and naked, are very friendly and the beach is clean, if a bit uncomfortable to walk and lie on. Because of the way the beach is with the cliff walls, you can be out of the wind, and be relatively discrete although most don't go too far along anyway.
I am told that it is an unofficial CO beach but it is accepted by anyone there that they will see nudity and as long as the usual common sense approach is applied then you will have a great time there.
I have had lots of great experiences there, some of which I have posted here previously
Go and give it a shot 🙂

It's National Trust land. They are the ones who have sanctioned the beach as a naturist friendly one. That it is still NT goes to show that it is well 'self' managed by the users.

Finally had my first visit to Brighton this year. Friday was such a fine day and the naturist beach was really busy for a work day. Lots of couples, most I've ever seen at Brighton and very few gawpers came by over the 4 hours I was there.

Bring on more sunshine.
