I honestly have no idea why the Lincolnshire beach at Theddlethorpe should be so unpopular now. Back in the 70's and 80's it was absolutely packed with people but now there are only a handful of people on a nice sunny day. There are no parking charges, there are no peeping Tom's, there is no real reason as I can see. OK, it is not an official beach but it is very secluded. Yes, it has dog walkers so one has to be careful but it is so easy to stay out of view on this beach. This place is one massive expanse of sea and sky and is so beautiful for miles. If you are in the area why not give it a try...? It would be so nice to get the place back to how it used to be.
Perhaps one reason is that the many people who used to visit the accepted naturist beaches are now too old the make the long trek to the beaches they were able to reach when younger, I know that applies to us and many of our friends some of whom we met for the first time on the beaches.
The same applies to club membership, with a club that has been in existence for over 50 years a large number of long term members are either reaching the end of their active days and are prevented from traveling or sadly no longer with us.
However the hard work and time that they invested can be enjoyed by the newer members and visitors in the future.

Kenfig beach in South Wales is still popular with couples and singles. Hopefully this weekend will be first of many visits this year!
Definitely fewer than usual on our local unofficial beach over the weekend and the weather was beautiful!

Slapton & Budleigh were well used last year, I would say that Budleigh is getting busier if anything! These are our two nearest & nicest beaches if you don't count the ones on the Bristol Channel coast around Berrow, which used to be popular back in the early 80s, but are now frequented by creeps & perverts. Besides, as I now work in community health just up the road from there, I would not want to risk patients stumbling over me!

Regarding UK naturist beaches not being as well used as they used to be,what,s the old saying "use it or lose it".I say don,t let the pervs win. 🙂

The forecast for the BH weekend looks good in south Wales. We shall be sunning ourselves at Kenfig Beach and probably Whitford Beach, Gower.
Are numbers at your club growing though Frenchy? Posts seem to suggest that very few clubs are thriving [as it growing and getting new younger members]. A lot more people admit to having sunbathed nude abroad but its just not happening here
This is purely my opinion, but it is my belief is that club membership is falling due to the ultra conservative way a lot of them are run. The sniffy attitudes towards single males, tattoos and piercings have, I'm sure, put a lot of people off persuing membership. Times change and unfortunately a lot of clubs haven't and will slowly die out as their aging membership sadly goes the same way.
Why would clubs ban tattoos and piercings? It's not like you can remove a tattoo when you remove your clothing.. How archaic!

Thought I ride to Kenfig Today from Port Talbot.
Lovely riding naked along beach went over river and saw a few naturists
so found myself a spot on the sand and started to enjoy the sun.
Then I noticed male activity going >:( on clearly on the beach so off I rode.
I was hoping to enjoy a relaxing afternoon after my 10 mile bike ride. :'(
it needs a police patrol!!
Keep On Smiling:)

The above on tattoos is a myth. I have seen tattoos in clubs. I have also seen piercings, most recently on Sat in that staid backwater of Yorkshire Sun but genital ones are not generally approved of. No need to have a go at clubs when the above post on Kenfig demonstrates why I am reluctant to go near a beach.

I spent most of Saturday and Sunday on Studland beach. It was crowded both days, with a large number of couples of all ages, and families with their kids. It is maintained by the National Trust, so no unwelcome activity is allowed. It's so perfect. I'm luck to live so close. If only all beaches were as good and well behaved.
I wonder if it is a factor of so much information being available.
What do I mean by that. Firstly a quick google by the passing naturist will reveal all manner of lakes, beaches, rivers and spots of countryside where you can strip off discretely.
In an era when there are concerns about voyeurs and assorted perverts who on occasion bump into conventional naturist spots it's no surprise that people may be being more cautious.
I also wonder if it is about time? With so many things to do it's not a surprise that people may be spreading leisure time activities more widely.
Also I know within my town there is a guy who has a naturist sauna in his garden, another opens their gardens to naturists and a third has a hot tub at home. Why travel 2 hours for something on your doorstep?
Another factor is the upsurge in overseas holidays. A friend was in the Canaries last year and said how she'd stripped and in the same breath said how she'd never do that in the UK!
I'm no expert though, these are just ramblings.

We agree with all of the above! Although we are lucky enough to have a secluded garden we do like to visit the local unofficial nude beach where the numbers seem to be diminishing rapidly. Yesterday, admittedly a weekday, apart from us there were only half a dozen other naturists.

Hubby & I used to frequent Studland when our children were growing up, it was safe being shallow, it was fun being sandy but above all it was pleasant...until about 10 or so years ago we stumbled across overt sexual activity with watchers in the dunes!! never been there since. genuine naturists have a hard enough time convincing people that we are not kinky swingers, so activity in the dunes like that just gives all of us a bad name.
For the record, we visited brighton a couple of weeks back (first time in years), yes there are still creeps wandering around oggling the sunworshippers, but the beach itself was really busy, with all sorts & ages enjoying the weather!!

Went swimming at Taddiford Gap, Milford-on-sea, near Lymington yesterday and had the beach to myself for a while before one other naturist came along. Great place but sadly sunbathing was spoilt by too many flies. Going to try Birling Gap next, possibly over the weekend. Any thoughts?
