Thanks for your reply and lots of info there. All useful stuff whether walking naked or not. Funnily enough I have a couple of friends who are really big into fell running and swear by Innov8 trail shoes. Like you they seem to be oblivious to wet feet as well!!
I do run a little (Parkrun 5k etc) but draw the line at running up hills and mountains so I only join them when they slow down to a walking pace!! I assumed they were compromising on footwear as the quite deep treads on trail shoes, coupled with the fairly thin soles (perfect for running up fells) would seem to be a little uncomfortable for walking long distances in to me?
I might give them a try though. As you say, waterproof shoes can get very hot and hold water when they do get wet.
